Remy had been wandering the ship without any particular destination in mind. He had been doing a lot of that recently, at least since Ayla had left. Most of his free had been spent with her. Now that she was gone, the unwanted alone time seemed to grow exponentially more each day.

Eventually, he found himself at the door of Ayla’s office, or rather the office of the new counselor. Was it something i his subconscious that had brought him to this place? Was it a desire to see the door slide open and see Ayla standing there with a seductive smile, nowing specifically reason for showing up? Or was it simply the fact he needed to speak to someone about how much he missed her?

Whatever the reason may be, he was here, and had yet to meet Lt. Rainsford. No time like the present, he thought.

With just a slight hesitation, the Captain rang the chime. . . .

Boudreaux (CO)

Abby looked up with tears In her eyes. She had just finished the first, of many, letters to her daughter. It had been harder leaving her daughter that it had been when her husband had died. She took a deep breath and wiped the tears from her eyes. “Come in” she said her voice betrayed the tears she had released.

Lt. Rainsford, CNS

The door slid open to reveal Capt. Boudreaux. The man was tall, well built and had a tangle of dark hair on his head. The mustache and goatee the same dark color of his hair. Dark, mysteriosly, mischievous eyes added to the trifecta. When he spoke, his voice was calm, but strong with a heavy Cajun dialect.

Abby stood as the CO entered her officer. She hadn’t been expectin anyone “Please Sir do come in” she said more then caught off guard.

He smiled and grreted the new counselor. “Lt. Rainsford, I am Capt. Remy Boudreaux, commandine officer of de Wolverine. Welcome to de ship.”

Before adding another word, Remy paused, noticing her eyes rimmed with red. Moistness from her tears still stained her cheeks.

“I am ‘opine dat you are no’ regrettine acceptine de counselor posi-SHON already, Lt. Usually it takes new crew members at least a week before regrettine de decision.”

“Not at all sir. Just finished my first letter home. I’m missing my family a lot right especially my daughter.
May I offer you something to drink?”

She asked as she made her way to the replicator to refill her own coffee cup.
