See if you can get any comms comine from or goine to dose colonies. We may be too far away, but let’s ‘ope dere is a relay sta-SHON somewhere in between, no?” : : : : : : : : : : : : Boudreaux (CO) : : : : : : : : : : “Of course, sir. It is certainly worth the shot,” The Ensign nodded, turning her attention back to the station before her. She rose her hands to begin a scan on the audio frequencies, in case there was a possibility that they could note any of the possible communications released from the colonies. : : : : : : : : : : Ens. Voq : : : : : Science : : : : : : Only silence was found. Either because subspace communications wasn’t too advanced, or more than one potential colony wasn’t responding at all. : : “Dead, sir. Any communication is obsolete. Even if there were any signals, they would have to be incredibly faint, to be void of the ship’s sensory.” Voq glanced back towards the Captain. : : : “Merci, Ensign,” Remy replied to the science officer, frustrated that the Wolverine with her superior tech couldn’t get any results. : : : : Alita studied her instruments for a few more seconds before turning and looking at the Captain. She took a breath as if to speak, pursed her lips slightly, and turned away a bit deflated. What else could she say that he might not already be feeling? There were friends, colleagues, and people she cared about over there and this mission had never set quite right with her. : : : : : : : : Alita, MO/COS : : : : : : Wells had returned to the Bridge shortly after the Captain gave the order about the communications detection. : : : : : : “Captain, something going on?” asked Wells. : : : : : : GM : : “No’ enough, commander. So far, we ‘ave gained notine useful.” Remy adjusted in his seat and continued speaking to Wells. “An alarm went off a few moments ago, but it was revealed to be a Voth ship, no’ Vaadwaur.” : : Mikel had finished his work at the dock. He had went to his chamber and now had returned to the Bridge. He silently made his to his station thinking to himself. They had better give him something for the minor miracle he had pulled off with the tractor beam docking and holodeck integration. Which was still holding but would have to be disengaged soon. He watched Well’s closely and then scanned the rest of the imbeciles he called shipmates. : : : : Petrov CE : : Voq : Science As Petrov entered the bridge, Remy eyed the man until he sat at the engineering station. “Good work wit’ de dockine, Mr. Petrov. ‘Ow much longer do you tink we ‘ave before it burns out?” Boudreaux (CO)“I say less than 8 hours.” Petrov answered flatly. He actually hoped it lasted that long.

Mikel was monitoring the two systems as they spoke. Right now they were holding but already he was seeing some strain on parts of both systems.Petrov CE
“Merci, Lt.,” Remy replied to the chief engineer. “Keep me posted.”
The waiting, the stillness, was getting to be too much for Remy. Like an animal waiting and anxious to be released from its’ cage, the CO stood and began moving from station to station around the ridge. Not in an effort to double-check what was going on; he respected his crew to much to second guess their work. He just to burn off the stored up energy. For a moment, he considered excusing himself to the holosuite to do some training, but pushed that thought away. He needed to be on the bridge and ready to move at a moment’s notice, for better or worse.
Boudreaux (CO)
Alita glanced up at Remy as he came near, a look of understanding in her eyes. What she wouldn’t give to run a marathon right now, or to be over on that station with her colleagues.
-Alita, MO/COS
Mikel watched the CO out of the corner of his eye. He hoped the man did not feel the need to come by and socialize with him. He had to believe the CO knew he had no wish to socialize. Why could not the man just go to his ready room and pretend like he was doing something like any other good Captain.

Petrov monitored the engine room and the virtual dock he had constructed. Both at the moment had no issue but one.
“Were running off main power right now as were docked. The virtual dock set up is draining resources and we need more. I will have to shut down some auxiliary systems such as replicators and lower lighting, lab work that is non essential etc..” Petrov announced out loud.

Remy absently nodded to Petrov as he kept his attention focused on the chatter taking place om the starbase.
Since no one said no Mikel began the shutdowns. So someone in a sonic shower would lose most pressure, someone about to order their best replicated dish would be disappointed. Your cabin would be suddenly dark and then low emergency lighting would kick in etc..This would happen across the whole ship. Petrov secretly made sure that the COS cabin had no power to it at all. A perk of being the CE he said to himself.

OOC: He’s evil!! On a side note. We’re at an impasse with Jason still on LOA. Also, Julia has recently taken on some extra RL responsibilities, so her posting will most likely not be as frequent as she normally is. With that being said, I think it would be a good idea if the COS was on the starbase with Team B (K’Mar and Celador), so that Cel has someone to interact with when Jules is unable to post. So, Catt, if you are okay with that, just jump into the Team B thread as if you were there the whole time. Now, just to keep things straight, Team A consists of Bryson, Ayla, And Draddock. Team B consists of Celador, K’Mar, and now Alita! Thanks.
IC: At the sound of Petrov flipping switches, Remy turned toward Petrov and realized what he had agreed to a few moments ago. Letting the CE continue to shut systems down, the captain turned back toward the main view screen.
Boudreaux (CO)
The CE considered shutting down the Captains Ready Room but thought better of it. He had built up some serious points with the holodeck/tractor beam solution and did not want to spoil that for nothing.

After some time had went by Mikel registered a surge and then reduction of power to the tractor system. He quickly began checking it over. The tractor system was not using that much power and with the adjustments he had made to the power grid it should be ok. It took him about 5 minutes of checking the system he had rigged to find the problem.
“Captain,” He called out.
“We have an issue.” He put the schematic onto the viewscreen in front of his station. ” Power is still fine but I had to run this through junctions and lines that the flux capicitors and plasma inhibitors are not designed to handle this much power flowing through them. We had a surge of power to the system. Lucky not rnough to cause a sensor detection from that base or visual issue. However now we lost 8% of the tractor beams power. I series of inhibitors burned out. I had to switch them to open. Which means they are not inhibiting anything but are still there. When they burn out the flow gets closed basically. I could fix a few but I’m already seeing strain on the other avenues I have routed through. I project a cascade failure but cannot tell you when but it will not be hours.”
OOC: I can rp the time involved or if the GM is back he can give us that.
Petrov CE
“Warning: Tractor emitter overload detected. System override is currently active. Time to catastrophic failure in 35 minutes,” said the computer, as if responding to the CE’s information, “System override is recommended to be shut off and tractor emitter system to be shut off before possible explosion.”
GM
“You heard it Captain. You have 35 minutes. I can maybe buy a few more minutes but not much.” Petrov said from his station. It was a miracle he had held it together for this long.
