The computer reported that the sweep was doing it’s job properly. The process was 50 percent complete. Long range scans showed no vessels approaching the moon they were on.

“It appears we’re halfway through the process, Captain.” Commander Erin stated as he approached the Captain and Commander Wells. It appeared that he had entered at the tail end of whatever Wells was saying, but the expression on their face said enough.

“Everything okay?” Bryson asked in a hush tone.

“Mr. Petrov cited concerns about the validity of the current mission assignment,” replied Wells. She spoke in a soft tone, but not in a hushed one. It was below the normal speaking volume for the room, but loud enough for the immediate person next to her to be able to hear her properly.

“Not surprised…” Bryson repled. “The guy seems a little combative, especially towards Alita for some reason.” Commander Erin made a mental note to check in on the two after this sweep was finished. He had spent most of the mission either on the Bridge or in isolation that he had yet to actually communicate with much of the Senior Staff.

“Combative, paranoid, suspicious, as well as arrogant, narcissistic, an’ general piain in de backside are all words I ‘ave heard people use to describe Mr. Petrov. Unfortunately, ‘e is a genius when it comes to ship’s engines,” Remy added.

Wells just shrugged. “Your command, sirs. I’m just here along for the ride,” said Wells, “If there is nothing else, I’d like to get back to my novel.”

“Of course, Cmdr.” the CO replied. “Just as long as de II drive is ready to go as soon as de sweep is complete.”

“Due to the baryon sweep, the drive had to be deactivated for its protection. We’ll need to restart the initialization process once the baryon radiation has cleared,” said Wells, “It will take 2 or 3 hours, Captain.”

“Mr. Erin,” Remy said, asking the XO to join him. As they began to walk, Remy asked, “Were you able to get any useful informa-SHON from de data dat Melnorme suplied to us?”

“I’ve only been able to read bits and pieces since science was able to upload it, Captain.” The XO replied as they continued. “I’m sure Lieutenant Ahearn would have a more detailed report.” Commander Erin stated. Bryson stopped for the moment as he watched the CSO approach the pair.

Ahearn scoffed. “I can assist with that, Captain. I might be able to shave off some of that time. Energy is my specialty, after all.” the CSO said, for the first time in a long time the hint of mirth finding it’s way back into his voice.

OOC: I might be missing context of which thing you are referring to. Do you mean to help with the II drive which is top secret or the data that Melnorm provided?

OOC: Either. He was referring to both, actually. Sorry for the confusion.

OOC: Yes, the II droive comment was meant strictly for Wells.

IC: “Oui, Mr. A’earn, de sweep seems to be workine as expected?”

Remy nodded in acknowledgment to the CSO’s report, then inquired, “‘Ave you been able to glean any useful informa-SHON from de data we received from de trader? I don’ know ‘bout you, bu’ de sooner we complete dis mi-SHON de better. I’m beginninge to get homesick.”

Alita was bored, tired, frustrated, and a little scared, but didn’t want to sleep just yet. So she took out a PaDD and started planning a menu for the feast she would cook after this whole mess was over.
