Posted by… suppressed (12) by the Post Ghost! 👻“You are aware of Lt. Ahearn’s plan to use a baryon sweep across the ship, are you not?” asked Wells.
GM
He was not and he did not say one way or the other.
Petrov CE
=Dat is correct, Petrov. As soon as I ‘ave de green light for Mr. Ahearn, I am orderine ALL crew to de cargo bay while de sweep is in progress. Teoretically, dis should rid de ship of de infec-SHON.=^=
Boudreaux (CO)
=^= I am sure I can isolate myself here in a forcefield. I don’t think we should all be in the same location at once. Someone should remain in case something happens.=^= He said and looked hard at Well’s. Maybe the idiot Captain trusted her but he did not.
Petrov CE
“You did get treated, did you not, Mr. Petrov?” asked Wells.
GM
One of the Engineering NE’s came up. “Sir, the Chief Science Officer wanted to set up field diverters in the cargo bay for the baryon sweep to eliminate the infection across the ship. Did you want them set up in Engineering too?”
GM
OOC: I honestly don’t remember if we got treated in Engineering. Guess we need that answer. Lets say we did. Objections?
Sidney
OOC: You never really did. You just sealed Engineering off as soon as you heard about the infection, and well… the infection had already spread ship wide at that point, so sealing Engineering didn’t do anything. None of your staff, fortunately, has seen any effects from the disease… yet.
GM
Petrov cursed to himself.
“Ok We need to get treated.” He said in a burst. She had beat him at every turn and he was not used to that.
Petrov CE
Petrov thought Wells gave a small smirk on her face, but when he looked directly at her, Wells had unreadable and emotional-less expression.
“Aye sir. What about the diverters, sir?” asked the NE, “I’ll have staff who aren’t working right now to be sent to Sickbay immediately.”
GM
” Send them.” Petrov snapped. “Set up the damn diverters and get me a hypo of whatever the cure is. I want it here for everyone else. I want it delivered here now.”
He glowered at Well´s.
“If you think this is the end of it Well´s then your mistaken. I don´t intend to let this pass and whatever your really up to I will find out.” He threatened.
Petrov was not a man to make his plans known or tip his hat. However he had done so this time. It could make Well´s feel victorious or worried. Most who had ran afoul of Mikel would choose the latter.
Petrov CE
OOC: Just waiting to know if I get a shot in the rearend or mutate into something.
Petrov CE
“The only person with an agenda is you, Mr. Petrov. I just want to complete this mission and get my research lab on Earth,” replied Wells.
An Medical NE came in. “We’re going to have to induce an extremely high fever, sir. It will be uncomfortable,” said the Medical NE, as he injected something, “You better lay down, sir.”
The fever was extremely uncomfortable. It knocked Petrov out cold. Hours later, Petrov awoke in the cargo bay.
GM
Petrov and his remaining team members woke up less than happy. He was sore, tired and very weak. It took a few minutes to even realice where he was. Then it hit him. Well´s had tricked him. What illness? She knocked him out and had engineering all to herself. He tried to call out but found that no voice came out. He waved for medic to come by and croaked for wáter. Once he had some he was able to ask.
“Status report.” He asked not knowing if this person had a clue or not.
PetrovCE
A medical NE came by. “You are worse out of the fever now,” said the Medical NE, wearing a protective mask. “So is the rest of your staff, sir. Commander Wells assisted us in moving you into Cargo Bay 3. The rest of the crew are in Cargo Bay 1 and 2. She left for Cargo Bay 1 before the sweep. I’ve been informed that all sections of the ship, have been evacuated to the Cargo Bays, and both Engineering and Bridge controls have been routed to Cargo Bay 1. Only one member of your staff is not here. Ensign Fixit had come down with the illness early on, and is manning the Engineering station in Cargo Bay 1. We’re in hour 2 of the baryon sweep right now. Would you like me to get someone to setup a console for you to see the baryon sweep, sir?”
GM
“No dammit. I want a console set up to give me engineering access.” He sad with a little more energy but by no means with his usual biting rhetoric and fear he instilled in JO’s.
Petrov had to know what Well’s was doing. He was convinced this was part of her plan all along. Surely that pea brained Captain would not see through it. He could not see through clear glass.
Petrov CE
“Aye sir. As soon as one of your staff is feeling better, I will direct them to have a console set up. In the meantime, I’ll have someone install a console next to you.”
An hour passed before one of his Engineers began the wiring process. Another 15 minutes passed before Engineering access was established. If Petrov were to tap into the security systems, he could see Wells in Cargo Bay 1, sitting down with the rest of the crew, reading a PADD. Her back was faced to the camera, so the PADD contents were in clear view. What he found on the PADD was a novel, “The Lord of the Flies” after asking the computer for an analysis of the visible text.
GM
“What the heck is she up too. I’m not buying it.” He said lowly to himself.
He scanned the engineering readings for anything that indicated foul play was at hand. He even went over the smaller details to see if the ruse was not hidden somewhere.
Petrov *being less than trusting as usual.
