Wells showed up 5 minutes later. “My apologizes, I was delayed by a conversation I was having with the Captain on some personal matters. To what can I assist you with?” asked Wells.
GM
Alita may have lost her body for the moment but, in her opinion, it seemed Wells’ intelligence had escaped her.
She stood tall and looked the woman in the eyes.
“The Science Officer said you, or the CE, could probably help us put things to right. I want out of this body and I think it needs to be more of a priority than everybody’s making it. So I require your assistance.” she stated.
- Alita, MO/COS
“Ah, you must be Lt. Claire. Yes, I have consulted with the Chief Engineer on your situation and we have come up with a potential viable solution but I’m afraid it can’t be implemented until the Captain finishes discussing with the alien trader. Sufficient to say, we don’t have enough power to use the transporter and the computing resources required to unscramble your patterns into their respective parts. I’m afraid, Lieutenant, I can’t go into much details than that as the device we intend to use is rather classified,” said Wells.
GM
Alita got the strong sense that Wells was telling the truth but she still didn’t trust the woman completely.
“And how much longer do you think this negotiation is going to take? I believe the longer we are in this state, the harder it will be for any device to return us to normal.” she explained.
- Alita, MO/COS
“Your atoms aren’t going anywhere, Lieutenant. The primary issue is essentially decompiling you into your individual atoms and DNA components then reconstructing you back to normal. The computer estimates the power requirements would take all the extra power we brought on board that is needed to be used to travel back to the Alpha Quadrant.”
Ahearn walked into the lab, preoccupied with samples in his hand and not seeing the two figures as he made his way to the biological containment unit. Placing the samples in the unit, he began generating a holographic model and then saw the two and jumped in surprise. “Good lord!” he exclaimed and then calmed a bit. “What are you two doing in here?” and then he looked at Alita. “Who in the nine hells are you?”
Ahearn, CSO
“Actually I’ve always heard that there are thirteen Hells and, by the Gods Chief, if you’ve forgotten that Cel and I would rather be back in our own bodies, I don’t know if I can avoid throwing the temper tantrum that this young male body has raging inside of it.” she explained shakily.
- Alita, MO/COS
“Commander Helena Wells, Lieutenant Ahearn. I’ll overlook your outburst to a superior officer since this is your lab after all,” replied Wells, “I was asked down here by the Lieutenant here.”
GM
Ahearn looked at Wells and waved his hand dismissively. “I know who you are, Commander. I did not know the… extent… to which the others had been subjected.” and he he paused and stared for a moment and then shook his head to clear it. “We can deal with that after I deal with this.” and e waved his hand over the samples that had yet to be loaded into the modeling module.
Ahearn, CSO
Alita forced herself to calm down, stood, and took a chance.
“In the interest of everybody involved, Chief, please allow me to assist you. Don’t let this body fool you, I still know what I’m doing.” she said calmly to Ahern.
