Wells showed up 5 minutes later. “My apologizes, I was delayed by a conversation I was having with the Captain on some personal matters. To what can I assist you with?” asked Wells.

Alita may have lost her body for the moment but, in her opinion, it seemed Wells’ intelligence had escaped her.

She stood tall and looked the woman in the eyes.

“The Science Officer said you, or the CE, could probably help us put things to right. I want out of this body and I think it needs to be more of a priority than everybody’s making it. So I require your assistance.” she stated.

Yes, I have consulted with the Chief Engineer on your situation and we have come up with a potential viable solution but I’m afraid it can’t be implemented until the Captain finishes discussing with the alien trader. Sufficient to say, we don’t have enough power to use the transporter and the computing resources required to unscramble your patterns into their respective parts. I’m afraid, Lieutenant, I can’t go into much details than that as the device we intend to use is rather classified,” said Wells.
