Alita wanted to tell Cel to sit down and calm down but the truth was she sensed exactly how he felt and felt the same way.

• Alita, MO/COS

“Alita,” He paused, “Lieutenant, the ship and crew clearly have their own problems. We can’t rely on them for help. Lets stop BSing around.” He was anxious now he started pacing again. “Lets see if we can fix this ourselves so we can help the crew.”

Alita stood up and made her way towards the console.

“My thoughts exactly.” she said picking up a tricorder, “I know we’ve probably had a thousand scans done today but let me take one more. I want my own data to work with.” Alita explained.

A Science NE spoke up. “Um, ma’am. I’ve been looking over the data and it seems that both of you were infected with the biological agent – specifically, the bacterial-viral infection that the other away team members had. It accounts for some extra molecules when you beamed aboard. It seems that you are immune to the bacterial-viral infection…”

Celador looked confused. “How does an infection force us to switch bodies and DNA, while also reverting us to teenagers?” This didn’t make sense to him, then again he was no scientist.

Alita looked at the NE like he’d just grown another head.

“There’s no way in Hell I would classify this as immunity. If you want to make me believe it, explain further.” she said calming herself with her last words.

“Sorry ma’am. What I meant was that I did a composition analysis on the molecular data of your transporter patterns and there were uncounted for extra DNA strains. The alien shield caused interference with the transporter and the transport was actually forced. Somehow the transporter was still able to obtain a lock but the energy field from the alien shield caused your patterns to be scrambled, including the bacterial-viral infection you had.”

With great effort Alita stayed in her chair. She felt like pacing at that moment.

“So you’re telling me that we are immune to this viral agent because it’s now a part of us. Well let’s work on uncoupling it. I’d like to be an adult woman again. Tell me where to begin.” she said almost demanding.

“I’m not a transporter expert, ma’am. If anything, the Chief Engineer or maybe Commander Wells has an idea to help you.”

Alita knew the proper thing to do was to work with the Chief Engineer but she had no doubt how the CE felt about that. Frowning, she reached up and began rubbing her temples. Who’s migraine was she getting now anyway?
