Mwezi tapped his hand against his side as he waited ‘patiently’ for the doctor. He knew the psych evaluation was a yearly ritual, and also necessary for arriving on a new ship, but he still didn’t particularly enjoy it - especially the boarding psych. Baring his emotional and mental state to a complete stranger was something he wasn’t sure he’d ever get used to in this timeline. Back on the Chernov, he just did his job and didn’t worry about his mental state.

Feeling his discomfort from a few corridors over, Kula sent a small pulse of comfort and care, and Mwezi un-clenched his hand and relaxed his shoulders. It was fine. He sent back a quick pulse of gratitude, then sighed and settled back into waiting for his appointment.

Mwezi stepped into the office and glanced around, his security-trained mind active. “Thank you, Doctor, a glass of cold water would be appreciated.”

He replicated some water and handed it to Mwezi, “Have a seat” he said taking a seat across from him. “Sor Lieutenant, how are you settling in?” he asked sipping his tea, his black orb of eyes which seemed reflecting Mwezi’s soul back at him.

Mwezi shrugged. “It is going well enough,” he replied. “My department has welcomed me fairly quickly, and my mates are finding things to do as well.”

OOC; One thing to note, as I just noticed that Tealor is a Betazoid, Mwezi’s species’ minds are blank to telepaths. Like Ferengi, they cannot be telepathically read or sensed.

Not the initial evaluation to ensure I’m sound of mind, but the follow-up where I’m expected to discuss my personal life and emotional state with… frankly, no offense Doctor, a stranger. A stranger who I cannot … there is no word in Federation Standard for it. Uh. My people have an empathic … network we all can connect to, and you are excluded from that. I struggle to understand how you could possibly make an accurate assessment of my mental and emotional health when you are not part of it.”
