McGarvey had just gotten aboard the ship and had made sure that his few pieces of cargo had been appropriately delivered to his quarters when he made to start meeting with each of his required boarding evals. Normally, he would just go to his Department Head but he had received a comunique en route to the Wolverine that the Captain wanted to see him when he first arrived.Hopefully he is a fair man, I have read his Star Fleet record but that can only tell me so much especially if as Wraith suspected: his new CO had at least some involvement with Section 31.
He was manuevering through the corridors of the ship and had silently arrived at the entrance to the Captain’s Ready Room the location the communique had said to report.
He chimed for entrance and awaited permission to enter.

“Entre,” came a voice from the other side of the door. As it hissed open, McGarvey would see the CO standing by the port window of his office, gazing out at the stars. Remy turned with a smile on his face and said, “Welcome, Ens. McGarvey, to de Wolverine.”
“Thank you, Captain.” he said respectful, he didn’t return the smile but not in a cold way rather as typical for someone with the call sign Wraith: he acknowledged the smile with his eyes but was too busy taking in the details and weighing the situation in front of him to try and reciprocate the facial gesture… not to mention that the list of things that brought a genuine smile to Wraith’s lips were few and far between especially these days.
Remy indicated a pair of chairs in front of his desk and slid around behind to take his own seat. The captains dark hair and goatee were definitely longer than regulations allowed and his uniform was loose at the collar. Not exactly what one would expect from a commanding officer of a Starfleet vessel, but the Wolverine was not your average Starfleet vessel, either.
As Wraith sat he thought to himself, “not precisely the presentation I was expecting from a man I believe was once part of or at least associated with Section 31 but appearances can be deceiving.”
He sat in a relaxed manner but still with both feet on the floor, knees slightly apart, his arms comfortably at his side, seeking to express a confident but open position to his new commanding officer.
When Remy spoke, his accent was thick. If McGarvey had any information on Earth accents, he might recognize it as Cajun, a regional dialect specific to the area around New Orleans.
“I ‘ope you’ trip ‘ere was uneventful, Ens, ‘cuz tines will get eventful soon enough. Downtime is a luxuey on de Wolverine.”
Boudreaux (CO)
“It was a quiet trip, sir.” He answered matter of factly, he wondered how much of his file the Captain had access too. He expected his whole file including his previous work before Star Fleet but he wasn’t sure if the Admirals that had made the collaborative decision to move him to the Wolverine had updated Boudreaux as to the fact that he had deserted his post several years ago to rescue his fiance; and that it was only after her death and his subsequent “mourning” that he had sought to return to Star Fleet. He was quite sure that one of the admirals wanted him on this ship for positive reasons while at least two of the others would sooner he disappear in a very permanent way on the Wolverine.

bump
Remy stared at McGarvey, trying to get a read on the new security guard. Chances were that McGarvey, like most of the others on the Wolverine had a blemish or two in their file. He wanted to see how open the new guy was going to be about sharing it with his new CO.
“Ensign, I see dat por-SHONs of you’ record ‘ave been redacted or ‘ave been classified. I spent most of my career in de Intel field, an’ I still ‘ave quite de ‘igh security clearance. I could spent my time making calls and’ fishine to get full access to you’ file, but I would radder ‘ear it straight from you as to what is in de blacked out sec-SHONS. You being straight wit’ me, right ‘ere, right now, will go a long way in knowine ‘ow much I can trust you. Many of de Wolverine’s ops are extremely covert, an’ de trust among de crew is very important?”
