Mwezi had to admit, he’d had a lot of fresh starts over the course of his years in Starfleet, but being transferred because a ship was being retired was new.

At least this time he had his partners with him, he reflected, smiling at Kula taking a nap with a book over her face and Shilo excitedly chatting with the shuttle pilot about something or other related to piloting.

The shuttle slid into the Wolverine’s shuttlebay, and Mwezi quietly touched the second pip on his collar. He’d gone up and down the rank ladder a few times now. Maybe this time it’d even stick, he thought with a wry smile.

Shilo thanked the pilot for the ride and quickly grabbed their bags. Kula snorted adorably as she was woken, and the trio stepped out into their new home.

Once all their stuff was moved over into their new quarters, Mwezi straightened his uniform and quietly ambled down to the security office, tapping the chime to the door and waiting for the chief to call him in.
