It had only been a few hours since Mado arrived. Already he had spoken with the Captain, quartermaster, and the ship’s doctor. Now he found himself outside of the counselor’s office. It was an area he was less familiar with. In his time with the Federation Security Agency, medical and psychological evaluations were one in the same.

Before chiming he took one more quick look at the counselor’s public file. The counselor was a Napean, an empath. He raised an eyebrow. As an intelligence officer, empaths made him slightly uneasy. He scrolled a bit quicker to have a look at her service history. As his eyes scanned the page, something piqued his interest, possibly even more so than the counselor being an empath. Apparently, she had served Battle of Sector 001.

While battle veterans would be in no short supply during this era, the Battle of Sector 001 was particularly interesting. It planted a seed of uncertainty into everything that the Federation had built. Sure the Federation came out victorious, but things were never quite the same. Catching himself, Mado decided he had read enough. Clearing his PaDD, he slid the device back into his satchel and chimed on the counselor’s door.

As he did, he attempted to clear his mind.
