“I’m so sorry,” Dradvia said as she walked in with the kitten in her arms. “I had some difficulty with the harness, and Simon got impatient with me.” Dradvia made sure to speak up just a little so Sisnil would hear her as she came in. As she got closer Simon let out the most pitiful ‘I’m a baby and need my daddy’ cry anyone had ever heard. Dradvia very carefully put the squirming kitten down on Sisnil’s chest. She made sure to put the leash in Sisnil’s hand before she let go.

Sisnil reached for him as soon as he heard his cry. It was as distinctive to him as an infant’s cry to its mother. It wouldn’t matter if she handed him the leash or not, though he did grip it tightly, because Simon immediately lay down in a curled up, purring heap on Sisnil’s chest.

Tealor removed his hand from his shoulder, in his mind ‘Your a betazoid my friend we are resilient’ he thought. ‘Your going to be ok’ he said and stepped over to check on his progress before leaving to take a break.
Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S WolverineDradvia took the vacated chair as Tessan stood. “Thank you,” she said quietly to him. She was sure having Simon would help Sisnil’s morale. Tessan looked tired, and she hoped he would rest.
She turned back to Sisnil and set a hand on his leg so as not to hamper his movement. With the other she gently oet that cat. “He’s really missed you. I… I hope it’s okay, I let him sleep with me a couple of times.”

Sisnil smiled. “I love that you did that. I hate how lonely he must be.” He said, petting the kitten. His pets were slightly sloppy, either hitting the cat in the face gently, or the side, but Simon didn’t care in the slightest. He just kept purring and trying to lick Sisnil’s hands.

It had only been twice that she had left to sleep, and only because she’d been ordered to do so. Dradvia would have slept in the chair given the option. She had left regularly to check on Simon though. Knowing Sisnil would prefer her to go into his room rather than anyone else, eased her guilt over leaving him. “I’ve checked on my a lot. I was worried he might get sick, but he’s eating and drinking. I’ve made sure.” She didn’t say anything else. Letting Sisnil enjoy having Simon around and to let the kitten become reassured that Sisnil was okay. He seemed to realize Sisnil was sick because he was very calm and very gentle.
