It was during the time after Sisnil had been attacked at the Starbase. He was still in Sickbay, stabbed in the abdomen and poisoned with an awful, rare, and largely unknown substance called echtallin. Dee had told Tessan all about it.

It was awful because the way it effected the body made most pain killers and sedatives ineffective. There was one of each that would work. At that time though, Sisnil was awake. He looked awful. His K3 indicator showed he was in quite a lot of pain. Dee had refused to leave his side, and they were talking. Mostly she was telling him to stay calm and rest.

Tealor walked in with his Padd and moved over to the bed to check the readings, “How are you holding up Mr Zoi?” he asked since he knew he was not well. “Dradvia could you excuse us for a moment please, go grab a snack or strech your legs.” he asked

Dradvia blinked not wanting to leave, but an order was an order. “Yes, Sir. Of course.” She looked at Sisnil. “I’ll go check on Simon for you.” He wasn’t due for more meds for awhile, and the alarm would go off to alert Tessan when it was time.

Sisnil reached for Dee, not wanting her to leave. But she was gone. It was one of those rare times when Sisnil was too weak and unwell to maintain his mental walls, and Tessan could sense his uncertainty, unwellness, distrust, and paranoia. He glanced at Tessan, “You shouldn’t be here. You’re Betazoid. You can sense my pain.” He said, his voice weak. There was sincere care in the words, he wasn’t just saying it because he didn’t want to talk to Tessan, he genuinely didn’t want the man to feel what he was.

Tealor was not interested in searching through the mans head without his permisison, and while he felt some discomfort he was able to manage it. “I can manage for now,” he noted. “If it becomes to much please don’t be offended if I have to leave” he added.

“Is it ok with you that Ensign Dradvia hears your medical information, it was not authorized on your admission” he stated.

Tealor looked over the stats and his current fluid runs. “I’m sorry I can’t do more for you. ” he appologized. “I could induce a coma but I’m worried that would trap you in a nightmare of pain that you could not wake up from”.

Tealor looked at his pain med regiment. I’m looking at your current readings, I can’t increase the does on either of your painmeds. ” he noted.

“I don’t see it in the notes, but back home, preasure theropy is used to control the sensations that your feeling” he paused, “Since the damage is internal I’m not sure it would help but it’s worth a try It should not make it worse but it may just not do anything”

OOC: Just providing a few medical record notes here:

• He’d suffered a deep wound to the upper abdomen that had been sutured.
• Hypovolemic shock due to blood loss
• Given two units of Betazoid type Z blood along with plasma during surgery
• Kayolane 175 ml for sedation and pain had no effect
• Drechtal Beams were used to cut nerve signals and prevent pain sensation
• Blood worked showed echtallin poisoning. It was made to cause nerve damage and hyperactivity, fever but no infection… the body created a crusty residue at the wound from the immune system the nerves, it increased pain, prevented loss of consciousness. It interacted with typical medications, making symptoms worse rather than relieve them. The poison itself was like nervous system acid, damaging and burning the nerves, causing central nervous system dysfunction, which explained his body’s temperature fluctuations. There was the potential for long term nerve damage and organ damage both from the poison itself and the effects of the central nervous system dysfunction. It would cause pain too. It was intended to be a slow, agonizing death as the poison slowly dissolved the nerves and the central nervous system slowly shut down.

Treatment for Echtallin Poisoning:
- hydrolyze treatment - It was a compound that would neutralize the poison, but do it too quickly and it would react with the poison instead and kill him. It had to be given in multiple doses per day for several days.
- Pain medication that blocked pain signals should work, but it had to block the pain signals, because the pain was directly from the nerves. Side effects of the treatment were liver or kidney toxicity, heart problems, numbness, and a whole list of other things. The dosing information was there, describing how to decide how much to give, when, and how.
- and only a specific type of sedative would be able to put him to sleep, because the way it acted to put him to sleep was different than most others.
- Even with the antidote treatment - survival was only 20%
- Given Bromocriptine to help regulate body temperature and hormone functions.
- restraining field used to keep him still and ease the misfires of the nervous system
