It was uncomfortable for Dradvia in general, but it was part of medical care. She just had to get through it. However, she was more embarrassed and awkward because it was Sisnil. She looked up from where she was sitting. “Let me just clean up. You can head back if you want, and then I can come check on you.”

She grabbed her towel and suit and then went into the bathroom. She collected the used towels and such and took them to the replicator to be recycled back into the system. Dradvia had the computer replicate a new set of towels that she replaced in the bathroom, and then finally, she set the computer to run the cleaning and sanitizing cycle

Sisnil started heading up to his room. The bath had helped a lot, but his muscles were tired and unwilling to work, so he was very slow. When he made it to his quarters, he sat down on the bed with a sigh.

Dradvia wasn’t that far behind Sisnil, but she stopped to grab food from the Galley. That way Sisnil didn’t have to walk too far again that day. Tomorrow, tomorrow would be different. He would have to if he wanted to get better quickly.

She pressed the chime and then entered and set the tray down. “I thought you would like a nice big meal after today. I brought a treat for Simon too.”

Sisnil smiled. “Thanks, Dee.” He moved over by the tray, into a chair. “What about the brain chemical level test?”

~ Zoi

“You start eating. I can do that while you eat. Then I’m going to pull up, all the medical records I have for you and then do a bit of research on normal adult Psilosynine levels, and compare your levels to that.” Dradvia said.

She found her kit where she had left it the day before and took the tricorder out to take the scans she needed. She moved over to the desk console and paused suddenly. “Um, have you done anything to this console? I mean is, uh, it okay if I use it? I can go to my quarters to access the library and ship’s files.”

Sisnil chuckled. “It’s perfectly useable, Dee. Go ahead.” He said. He started eating like she’d said and kept eating while she worked.

~ Zoi

Dradvia huffed as he laughed. “Well how do I know if you’ve boobie-trapped the thing or not. You have the door rigged that only my override will open it. Who knows what you did to the computer.” She was exhasperated and frustrated in a cute way.

She sat down with one last glare over the top of the screen before disappearing into the records she was looking for.

That only made Sisnil laugh even more. “What if I told you the computer is locked, but not to you?”

~ Zoi

“Sush! Don’t tell me. What I don’t know I can’t tell.” Her voice was semi serious because the grin on her face stole the sterness out of it. “I’m just checking patient records. Nothing odd here.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil grinned. “I said nothing, I promise,” he said and laughed. He finished his food and leaned back. “You are adorable, Dee.”

~ Zoi

Dradvia smiled, glad to hear him laugh. While he finished eating she dug into the data she had requested and took notes. When he spoke again she looked up, eyes a bit wide, and a bit of uncertainty and a warmth engulfed her with shyness but an underpinning of delight. “What?”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil smiled again and shook his head. “You just are. I love you, Dee.”

~ Zoi

“Oh,” why did it make her stomach fluttering and make her want to curl up in his arms? Dradvia thought it was the nicest compliment anyone had ever given her. “I love you, too.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil leaned back, still smiling, and waited for her to finish her research, petting Simon while he waited.

~ Zoi

Dradvia’s eyes kept flickering over the computer terminal at him. She was doing it covertly. Well sort of, she was trying. He looked good leaned back in his chair with that smile on his face. Then she was thinking about him kissing her.

She stood up suddenly. “I… ummm… I’m gonna go finish this in my quarters.” If a voice could blush, hers was.

Sisnil was enjoying her thoughts. She thought about kissing him, and he thought about kissing her, and… “What? Why? Dee, you can’t leave!” Sisnil said, and then settled back down with Simon, “I mean, whatever you need to do.”

~ Zoi

Dradvia paused shifting from foot to foot. If she didn’t leave she might do something. And it was very tempting to not leave. “You’re distracting me. I can’t get the information I need to give you the answers you need with you sitting there all,” she waved at him, “like that. And all I can think about is kissing you.” Then she smacked a hand over her mouth mortified. Why had she said that?

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil grinned and laughed. “You know what tends to solve that, Dee?” He sat up and leaned towards her, giving her his best charming look. “Kissing me.”

~ Zoi

“Ummm.” Really that was the best she could come up with? Why wasn’t her brain working? “I d cough don’t think it works that way?” Yes, it came out as a question. She really didn’t think actually kissing him was going to make it easer for her to concentrate on her work. Oh but that look, she couldn’t resist. Even though there was a part of her that very much wanted to hide from her confusion and feelings, that look drew her over next to him like a magnet.

“I don’t know, Dee, I think it does.” Sisnil wore one of those playful grins of his as she moved over next to him. He wrapped an arm gently around her and leaned towards her slowly.

~ Zoi

Her heart was pounding so hard Dradvia thought it might stop, and Sisnil could feel it. Her hands came between them, against his chest, but she didn’t push him away. Instead her fingers curled slightly in his shirt. She felt breathless. “Sisnil.” Her teeth tugged on her lower lip as her stomach flipped and flopped.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

“What?” Sisnil’s hand moved gently against her back, from her upper back, to the small of her back, but no lower. His voice was but a harsh whisper.

~ Zoi

Dradvia didn’t know. It was all a little overwhelming, but it wasn’t frightening as long as he was there. Her eyes fluttered closed at the feel of his hand on her back. How many times had Lokhar or one of his men grabbed her there? But Sisnil didn’t scare her, it made her feel safe. She didn’t have to worry about who might sneak up on her, or if she wasn’t strong enough on her own. It was an incredible feeling. She never wanted it to go away.

Her eyes studied his chin. “Don’t break my heart, Sisnil. I won’t survive it.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

“I swear it. K’thala’qar” Sisnil said, and then he kissed her, passionately, but gently. The Orion word he’d used, she’d recognize. A sort of Orion unbreakable oath.

~ Zoi

A small sharp intake of breath acknowledged his words. Dradvia would have preferred he not use the Orion oath, but she understood the significance of it. The seriousness of it. It was as serious as a Blood Oath to a Klingon. She would have preferred something else, but it was something they shared. Their knowledge of the Syndicate, and how serious the oath was, was an understanding they both had. That depth of meaning shook her to her core. Like an earthquake breaking down the great fortress of Jar’sa’la.

Her mind couldn’t dwell on that for long though. Sisnil was kissing her, and it was unlike anything she had ever experienced. Dradvia felt like she’d never been kissed before. For those long moments, it was like all that time with Lokhar had never happened. She was just a young woman, crazily in love with the most charming and dashing man alive, and he was kissing her. She didn’t know when or how, but her arms were around him, holding herself closer to him, and she was kissing him back.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil recognized the moment she lost herself in it. It was like she was both experienced and inexperienced at the same time. He was lost in her, both physically and empathically, feeling her emotions alongside his own.

~ Zoi

At one point they could taste tears. Dradvia wasn’t sad or scared, it was a release and wonder. She let out a small whimper and held on tighter. She didn’t want it to end. She wanted to stay there forever, let Sisnil keep reality away.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil ended it after long moments like that. He was tempted to go further and he knew she wasn’t ready. Instead he rested his head on her shoulder. “I love you.”

~ Zoi

A sound of protest and disappointment left her lips before Dradvia could stop it. “Love you, too.” Then the moment was gone, and Dradvia felt cold and devastated. She didn’t want to be back in reality where she was broken and twisted. She wanted to stay in that little fantasy bubble where she was normal and safe.
