Celador approached the Counselors office apprehensively. He stopped short of her door and paused, He sighed,

‘She suspects.’ Squared stated in Celador’s head.

‘Yeah’ Celador replied mentally, ‘If she does figure it out, do you still intend.....’

‘Yes, you have to protect me, you know the consequences if you don’t.’

‘No kidding.’ Celador replied sarcastically.

Celador took a deep breath, focusing on the training and experience to close off his emotions. He could feel Squared retreat into the dark corners of his mind. After a moment, when he felt like he had completely shut off his emotions, he pressed the chime.

Inside the small office, Ayla was actually in at the moment. She had felt the flux of emotions at her door long before the chime went off and it felt somewhat familiar. “Come in,” she said simply.

He’d find her at her desk and the office hadn’t changed much since last time. But the tapestry was different- it was a slightly abstract sunrise/sunset scene over water. “Hello Celador,” she said with a smile. “Have a seat and I’ll be right with you.”
