Xekeer lead the way through the maze of corridors following the screams of Commodore Oper. It seemed like they had been walking for hours until they finally made it to their destination. There was a double a door in front of the group and Xekeer opened it. The room was very dimly lit but Darkliss and T’Pris could just make out three chairs designed to restrain occupants. Commodore Oper was already in a chair. Her arms, legs and head were held in place by metal restraints. The Romulans roughly placed Darkliss and T’Pris in the chairs, Darkliss faced Commodore Oper and T’Pris was placed in full view of Darkliss and Commodore Oper. All of them were restrained by the metal restraints. Xekeer smiled at the three of them.
“Make yourselves comfortable. We’ll be here a while.” He stated and turned to a guard.
“Fetch the Admiral. He should be present for this.” The guard nodded and hurried away.
“Now, you might be wandering what is going on here. Why have we captured you? Well, the Commodore has some information that we need. She has been reluctant to relinquish it. We have been..... persistent but she has remained stubborn. We believe she requires more incentive, that is where you both come in.” He smiled and waited letting that sink in.GM Budgie
So that was it. No questions, Darklis thought. She felt the restraints. On one level she was glad to be seated and not walking but the hospitality she felt was going to degrade quickly. She felt herself start to panic but closed her eyes to steel herself. The last thing she needed was for the Commodore to lose resolve because of her. Her arm ached from where she had been roughly handled into place and she focused on that. In chess a Queen was far more important than what, a couple of bishops? She didn’t feel herself as important as a Rook and nothing like a Knight. In her mind she envisioned a chess board; she could play whole games in her mind playing both sides. Had Mary been in this chair herself? She glanced over to T’Pris who looked utterly composed. Darklis remained silent. What was there to say? Her eyes looked at the restraints as they were and as she was able. Was this the end?

T’Pris listened to the Romulan, heard his plans then began to prepare her mind. Torture, a typical Romulan endeavor did not surprise her in the least. She met Darklis’ gaze with a level one before she separated her mind from her emotions and began to practice the Vulcan mantra. She had the training for this with a life time of using it but her control was nothing like it used to be before the Valkyrie. Would she break? She shunted that worry aside as the mantra chanted through her mind. Controlling her breathing, heart rate, blood pressure was no difficulty as Vulcans had perfect physiognomic control of all three, it was the emotional one that she no longer had perfect control of anymore. Through no fault of her own due to the damage to her paracortex.

Time appeared to drag, for T’Pris and Darklis it would seem like agonising hours passed before the arrival of Admiral Holek and his entourage. Only 30 minutes had passed. The doors to the interrogation room opened and Holek strode in. He was an older Romulan with grey hair. He was tall and broad shouldered, big an imposing. He had air of authority around him, he was the kind of person who, when they spoke, you listened. His eyes narrowed as he looked over the prisoners and Commodore. The corners of his mouth almost curled into a smile. He sat down in the corner of the room and watched and listened. Xekeer smiled at the Admiral who nodded at him to begin.
Time .. went. Darklis remembered a childhood bit of ‘bathroom’ humor that how long a minute was depended on which side of the bathroom door you were on. This felt like she was on the outside. The chess game she had been playing had dissolved part way through for lack of focus; she could see the commodore and the look in her eyes was chilling. The Admiral allowed another focus and she watched with her eyes as she couldn’t move much else of her. There was a certain creepiness to him. Idly she wondered what he would be like socially. She recalled episodes in history of people conducting untold horrors in the day and then going home to their familes later.
Xekeer paced up and down the length of the table, his arms behind his back.
“Commodore, you know what we want from you. So, tell us about the ship movements in and around Black Rock.” Commodore Oper, eyes wide with fear shook her head in response.
That was it? Not that Darklis held the faintest clue of the answer but it didn’t seem to her to be anything requiring this level of persuasion. All she knew about ship movements was that patrol and conduct altered. This kind of stuff was not news.
“N....No. I......w....wi…will not.” She managed. Xekeer sighed.
“Very well.” He replied and moved over to the chair Darklis was sitting in. Xekeer picked up a hypospray (or the Romulan equivalent) and twisted it around in his fingers. He then jabbed it and injected it into Darklis. Darklis would feel the most intense pain she’d ever felt.GM Budgie
She felt the hypo. Was it some kind of truth drug? Something to lower her inhibitions and blab about anything and everything? It felt warm, coursing through her, tingling even but she didn’t feel like talking at all. Puzzled she waited for when she would be asked something to blab. The warmth suddenly turned to a searing pain in her nerves. It was sudden onset and Darklis didn’t feel much like talking. She was screaming too much, eyes wide and tear laden ..

T’Pris was aware of what was happening with Darklis, and a part of her sympathized with her. But she knew it would be her turn once the Romulans had tired with Darklis so she kept her focus on her mantra and keeping her mind seperate from what was going on.
She hoped that the Commodore was able to withstand this but she had her doubts. It had appeared in the cells that the woman was totally broken. What would happen once the older woman gave the Romulans what they wanted? Would they all be killed then? Would the Wolverine be able to find them in time? And if they did, would they be able to get them away? All unanswerable questions and a waste of her energies to concentrate on them. She cleared her mind and ran through the mantras again.
