McGarvey had just gotten aboard the ship and had made sure that his few pieces of cargo had been appropriately delivered to his quarters when he made to start meeting with each of his required boarding evals. Normally, he would just go to his Department Head but he had received a comunique en route to the Wolverine that the Captain wanted to see him when he first arrived.

Hopefully he is a fair man, I have read his Star Fleet record but that can only tell me so much especially if as Wraith suspected: his new CO had at least some involvement with Section 31.

He was manuevering through the corridors of the ship and had silently arrived at the entrance to the Captain’s Ready Room the location the communique had said to report.

He chimed for entrance and awaited permission to enter.

“Entre,” came a voice from the other side of the door. As it hissed open, McGarvey would see the CO standing by the port window of his office, gazing out at the stars. Remy turned with a smile on his face and said, “Welcome, Ens. McGarvey, to de Wolverine.”

Remy indicated a pair of chairs in front of his desk and slid around behind to take his own seat. The captains dark hair and goatee were definitely longer than regulations allowed and his uniform was loose at the collar. Not exactly what one would expect from a commanding officer of a Starfleet vessel, but the Wolverine was not your average Starfleet vessel, either.

When Remy spoke, his accent was thick. If McGarvey had any information on Earth accents, he might recognize it as Cajun, a regional dialect specific to the area around New Orleans.

“I ‘ope you’ trip ‘ere was uneventful, Ens, ‘cuz tines will get eventful soon enough. Downtime is a luxuey on de Wolverine.”
