“I’m their captain. They’re my responsibility. Especially the sort of jobs we work.” Sisnil said with a shrug. “We never, ever leave crew behind. Not if we can help it.” Simon glanced sleepily up at Dee and went Mew?

~ Zoi

Dradvia looked at Simon, “I know” she stage whispered, “he hides it. He acts all tough, but he’s a pirate, so he has to. You’ll get used to it. Just don’t believe all that ‘I’m the captain, I have to be responsible for everyone’.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil gave Dee a playful glare (that was, even jokingly, still almost intimidating), and then rubbed Simon’s ears. “Don’t listen to her, little guy. You’ll be tough a pirate as any, just like me.”

~ Zoi

Dradvia would have taken a single step back except she was already pressed against the wall. The look startled her, but didn’t scare her. She hadn’t seen that look… well.close to that look since the first day they met. Dradvia grinned, “Oh yes, he will be quite intimidating with that rumbling purr and pitiful meow. I think he will be tough and caring.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil had been tired and angry that day. Angry at the world and angry at himself for being so dumb as to get caught. He smiled at Dee’s comment. “I bet he’ll have a nice, deep meow when he gets bigger.”

~ Zoi

Dradvia couldn’t help it. There was a mischievous look in her eyes. “Oh yes, I’m sure. Which will make him all the more pitiful. Big strong males are so extra pitiful when they cry. Something about hearing those deep voices strain under the weight they bare, is just heart wrenching. Makes females want to do anything to help them.” She looked at Simon, “Of course he’s cute enough without it to do that.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil laughed, “So all I have to do to get your attention is cry?” He joked. His voice wasn’t that deep, but that didn’t really matter. “Should’ve told me sooner,” he said and grinned.

~ Zoi

“Of course. I’m a doctor, I’m required to give anyone in distress my attention,” she grinned, but oh how true that statement was. Sisnil didn’t have to be hurting to get her attention though. He really didn’t have to do anything. She really needed to stop thinking about it.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil laughed. “Then I guess I will just have to cry some.” He said. “Or break my leg in the holodeck or something, I guess.” He grinned. “Lucky you’re not an engineer. Me pretending to have a tech issue wouldn’t be very believable, would it?”

~ Zoi

“No, not even I would fall for that. You would have better help from Simon.” Dradvia laughed, “So lucky you.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil grinned. “You’re not that bad with it.” Simon, starting to be familiar with his name, mewed and looked up at her.

~ Zoi

Dradvia smiled indulgently at the kitten. “Oh, I’m sorry. We’re being noisy and keeping you awake. We’ll be quiet.” She glanced at Sisnil, catching his gaze and grinned.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil smiled and whispered dramatically, “We’ll wake the king,” he said. “He needs his beauty sleep.”

~ Zoi

“Well you can’t be that handsome and not get excess beauty sleep,” she whispered back. She sniffled a yawn of her own. “I think he has the right idea. He looks comfortable.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil nodded. “He is. And tired. He was a little stressed earlier, what with the new ship.” He said. “Now he’s still not used to it but he’s tired.”

~ Zoi

“And full,” she reminded him. “It’s a good thing you don’t have a regular duty schedule. You’ll be able to check on him throughout the day.” She finally looked away, “I don’t think we have a vet in board, but we have access to the veterinary database and can synthesize any medicines he might need. You should bring him by sickbay for a check-up eventually.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

“I can do that.” Sisnil said. “I’m not sure we can, y’know, fix him, when the time comes. But then again, it’s not like he’ll be encountering any other cats to worry about that.”

~ Zoi

“We can look into it,” Dradvia said, “if that is something you want to do.” Sisnil could tell from the slower pace of her thoughts how tired she was. Outwardly, she was doing a perfect job of hiding it. “Besides now that Morris approved a cat, who knows who else might decide to get one?”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil laughed. “I told him to approve it or I’d do it anyway and we’d best save ourselves the trouble.” He told her. Morris would have said yes anyway, but he was always difficult with Morris.

~ Zoi

Dradvia shook her head, “You just like to be difficult. I mean I suppose Morris should be glad you asked first anyway. For that alone he should say yes.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil laughed. “Trying to get me to ask first more often, huh?” He said and shook his head. “He’s the captain of this ship, but he’s not my captain, I’m my captain.”

~ Zoi

Dradvia’s gaze pierced him. “Would you not demand Morris to show you due respect as the captain of your ship? Even if he was just a passenger or forced to be there?”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil held her gaze carefully. “Passengers yes. Unwitting passengers.... It really depends.” He sighed, “Yes, in general I would.”

~ Zoi

“Then is it really so outrageous to give him the same courtesy?” Dradvia didn’t expect him to follow orders, but a little mutual respect could go a long way if the Wolverine ever ran into Sisnil’s ship.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil grumbled something unintelligible and rolled his eyes. “I guess not.” He said begrudgingly, as if admitting the worst thing in the world.

~ Zoi

Dradvia grinned. “See, I knew you were a good guy.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

Sisnil scowled playfully, “Sure I am. Me and my pirate crew are all nothin’ but good.”

~ Zoi

“Ah huh, a regular modern day Star Sirens.” They were a famous pirate/mercenary group from several centuries ago. Supposedly they passed through Risa on several occasions. They always seemed to be helping the little person. Dradvia wasn’t sure how much she believed they were real.

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

“They weren’t pirates, they were robin hood in space.” Sisnil said with a shrug. “No one cares about some earth guy from a thousand years ago, but the same story with a space crew?”

~ Zoi

Dradvia laughed at the derision in his voice. “We don’t know what they were or if they were even real. Besides piracy is all about perspective. According to Federation law it is, but the Frengi would find you to be quite a lawful businessman.”

Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer

“Oh, great, I love being compared to the Ferengi,” Sisnil cried, shaking his head. “Thanks, Dee, thanks a ton.”
