She watched T’Pris moving precisely about the food table. From what she had gleaned she had had Starfleet experience and that she was twice her age. She didn’t look it, but then Vulcans were long lived. Darklis envied her her experience. And beauty. Her own experience was limited both in career and in life. She was treading water here, or so she felt, but not swimming yet. Would she rise to the occasions? Her confidence suggested she would manage. That small voice in the night told her she was past her depth. Darklis was determined to silence that small voice; she had to. Shaking herself out of her reverie and staring at T’Pris her glance moved to the rest of the room and where she was now. Stay in the now, girl. Time will tell if you sink or swim, but that isn’t tonight. Tonight this was more her element. If she sunk in a social environment she was in trouble.
- DarklisSisnil took Dradvia’s hand, for a brief moment, and squeezed it, then let it go. He was keeping tabs on her emotionally. “Your best Ensign, sir,” he said, honestly complimenting Dradvia, but being sarcastic and sassy with his ‘sir’ towards Morris. Then he spotted something. “Dee! Dee! Look at the bar table! It’s been years since I’ve seen that stuff!” He was pointing to a particular drink set out.
Dradvia refused to flinch at the contact and draw attention to it. Kryssa used to do that, making sure she was okay. She wondered if Sisnil was doing the same thing. She didn’t have time to wonder long though before Sisnil was drawing attention to her and then acting a bit like a kid at Christmas, drawing even more attention to them. She looked where he was pointing, but she had no idea what any of it was. “Which one? There are a lot over there.”
Pulled out of her reverie at observing T’Pris, she turned to Sisnil’s sudden outburst. Dee? Was that referring to her? She looked all the same at what was being pointed at. A collection of drinks. She wasn’t certain on what that was all about, but she did see Cash there. He’d not been noticed earlier perhaps because of his size. He was not drinking so much as looking at the bottles that the drinks were in, inspecting them as though they were something from a curio shop. Her attention went back to Sisnil to see whether she was the recipient of this call.

Sisnil was doing exactly that - making sure Dradvia was okay. “The reddish purple one. Two in, right there.” He was still pointing excitedly but his voice was lower. “It’s been years! I thought they stopped making it. Guess they just stopped shipping it… well, out.” It was, notably, a non-alcoholic drink he was looking at. Like he’d told Dradvia before, he didn’t drink.
Sisnil felt the confusion and turned back to DK, “Sorry, not you, Dee’s Dradvia,” he said, but his voice was soft and polite and he was smiling. “I just haven’t seen a cherry-grape-aid juice in years, I got a little excited.”
“Ah, hey, no problem,” DC said. “You’re ahead of me then. I’ve never seen such a drink. Where I come from cherries just never took off. The ground or something. They never grew well. Grapes on the other hand. Spectacular wines and juices.” There was something boyish about his excited look. It was nice to see, especially with boys. They could express themselves so much better in these moments than girls; it was more infectious with boys. “It’s good to see people excited about things. It’s good for the health.”
Dradvia looked at the indicated drink. It was in a distinct shaped bottle. She waited quietly while he spoke to the CSO. “Do you want to get some?”
Walking into the party Tealor looked around most the folks he knew already in some form, large crowds always made him uncomfortable. Grabbing a drink he pushed toward the back of the room and found an NE to talk to smiling at those he knew as he passed.

Commander David Morris
Commanding OfficerAlita had been watching the crowd and listening to conversations. She was watching for one particular person, a person that probably wouldn’t be there anytime soon. She could feel the emotions twisting around in her and this was no place for them. This was a party and sometimes parties were for drinking. Setting the tray of hors d’oeuvres down she made her way through the party. Her heels made no sound on the floor and her cocktail dress barely brushed against anybody even though the place was filling up fast. There was always an empty seat at the bar for Alita, it was her program after all. Instead of taking one though she decided to slip behind the bar and be the bartender for the evening. Rummaging around she found several bottles and haphazardly mixed them together. The glass was full and the juice was added. ‘Time to get on with the night.’ she thought.

Tealor stood near the commander he was not sure if he was talking to him or not. Looking around the room the crew seemed engaged and happy of the most part. Social gatherings had been Elara’s thing she would captivate the room the moment she entered. It had made it easy for him to mingle. Without her, he felt lost and did not really know what to say. “Good party” he final mumbled out as he continued to look around.

Chief Medical Officer U.S.S WolverineDradvia smiled as Dr. Tessan passed her. She had never interacted with her superiors in a social setting and this was all new territory for her.
A gravely voice not so far away replied, “No brawls yet. Dull. No, just kidding. They just interrupt good conversation and song.” What Tealor would see would be perhaps the shortest Klingon he had seen, at least the shortest adult Klingon standing at perhaps 5‘4”. And the oddest. Dressed in a jacket of silver that had hexagons that gleamed in the reflection, a white shirt underneath that totally contrasted to this swarthy complexion. His hair was quite not standard Klingon as it was cut short and slicked, parted at the ridge that bisected his skull. The other thing that was different was that he was clean shaven. What seemed more Klingon was his bulk in that he was stocky and looking more like a short wrestler. “I’m HuS,” he said by way of introduction. “What appeals to you here?” he asked. He pointed out to where there was a horseshoe pit. “What is that game?” In his hand he had a tall glass of wine.
- HuS, Science EnsignTealor looked down at the rather short Klingon, the man was a foot shorter than him not the first person by far he was used to most people being shorter but not a Klingon. “Tealor” he responded, “I’m not sure, I am afraid that i’m not much of a game player” he noted.
T’Pris noted the new Klingon Ensign enter and studied him with fascination. This was why she had ended up in the research end she was in. How fascinating, an unusual Klingon indeed she thought as she sipped her drink.

Her eyes scanned the crowd and the drink table wairily. “You don’t think there will be fighting?” Dradvia asked Sisnil in a near whisper. She preferred for people to be around, but parties and carousing were not easy situations for her.

Alita overheard the comment as she was doing a walk-through with yet another plate of ribs. Laughing she paused to comment “oh heavens no. There hasn’t been a good fight at any Wolverine party in months. I think that was one, two Chief engineers ago. I could look it up if you like?”
