Focusing her attention on McGarvey, the empath was aware of his shifting emotional state and smiled softly at here. “Thank you for inviting me here,” she said softly before moving over to the fireplace to join him.

“Tell me about this place.”

As he finished getting comfortable he motioned to the seat opposite him, inviting her with the gesture to have a seat.

It was a simple thing, the invitation but it spoke volumes to Ayla. She sat without any fuss.

“This was my own personal escape. Growing up my friend Jacob and myself grew up at the Refuge. We were both outcasts for different reasons. We fixed a holosuite and he would program different environments for us, this was one that I asked for and helped design. It’s based on an Irish coast. My family has heritage from Ireland and Scotland and I designed this place when I was learning as much as I could about my family. It became my sanctuary. Later it would also become a place that I could think and strategize without distraction. I had thought this place would help make me more comfortable.” He knew that she was empathic and so saw no reason to lie to her about his feelings. He had been impressed thus far with her bearing and poise as the few times that he had invited people into this place only one or two seemed to be able to relax in the dark ambience of the castle room.

Looking around, Sharise could appreciate the room with the new perspective he had just given her. When her hazel gaze returned to him, she smiled softly. “It does have a certain enchantment to it, doesn’t it. Like stepping back in time, even if on some worlds such a place would be perfectly average and everyday.”

“What brings you to the Wolverine, Peter? As I’m sure you’re aware, the Wolverine has a… unique crew and everyone has a different story that doesn’t always fit the mold or expectation. What’s yours?”
