Dradvia didn’t sleep. How could she not knowing if Sisnil was telling the truth or if he was another well trained liar of the Syndicate. She never thought he was purposely there for her. She didn’t think shebwas worth that much to the Syndicate. She did know, however, they would be extremely happy to make an example of her. It would cut down on those that tried to run.
Did the CO really know what he was risking having someone like Sisnil on board? How much the Syndicate would love to retrieve someone from an Intel ship.
The thoughts and memories kept her up most of the night. So the next morning, she took a cold shower to shock herself awake and then went for breakfast. She didn’t know what Dr. Tessan’s policy on drinks in sickbay. So she stayed in her seat in the Galley trying to down the coffee as quickly as possible.

Sisnil didn’t sleep either. He couldn’t. All he could hear was… nothing, the absence of his brother. Today was the day of his medical check in, so he made his way to the galley for breakfast. He wasn’t really hungry but… going without food would be stupid.
He sat down at a table with his food and then looked up… And it was Dradvia. He took a bite of his food wordlessly.

Dradvia seemed on edge. Glancing around, watching everything, sitting near the more crowded part of the room, but alone. A whole night of reliving those two years and that last hour in the corridor didn’t clear anything up for her.
She combed her hair back away from her face before looking around again. Her eyes fell on Sisnil. She shook herbhead and actually smirked. She raised her cup slightly toward him then took a sip. The ship was too small to not run into each other.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
She kept calling it ‘small’. To Sisnil, it was big. He finished his breakfast. “See you later.” He said, and then it was off to the med bay for him.
~ Zoi
Compared to the size of the Academy and the Sovereign-class ship that rescued her, it was. She would have told him so if she knew he was reading her thoughts. “Later.”
She finished her coffee and made her way to sickbay. She was surprised to find him sitting on a biobed with Dr. Tessan. Well if he hurt his @ss it wasn’t her problem. She snuck into the storage room to make herself useful doing inventory.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
He looked less than pleased to be there, but unharmed. Some time later, he left Sickbay. Turned out, there was something he was wanted to work on. Keep him from sitting about idly or something. It was busywork, he felt like a busboy or butler as he wandered around the ship delivering things like some yeoman.

Her day was mostly uneventful. Just routine things and getting to know the Medical bay and small staff. It was routine, but kept her mind occupied.
After her shift, she opted to eat later to avoid a lack of seating. Again the replicator didn’t have what she wanted.
She curled in a lounge chair in soft lounge pants and off the shoulder cotton shirt. She had a plate and cup on the side table. In one hand was a PaDD as she tried to create a replicator file for it.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
Sisnil wandered in, scowling, and looked around. He took something from the replicator, he didn’t seem to care what, and started to stalk back out.
~ Zoi
Dradvia scowled, then tossed her PaDD down with an impressive session of mental cursing. She couldn’t make it work.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
Sisnil turned, whirled really, at the noise of the PaDD being tossed and her mental very rude words. Then looked mildly amused. He headed over and picked up the PaDD. “What are you trying to do?”
~ Zoi
Blue eyes stared up at him. She was still wary, but that was anyone, not him. “Trying to create a replicator recipe. But I don’t know all the chemical compositions.”
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
He sat down next to her and started typing on the PaDD. “I don’t either, but… Let’s see what I can do.” He said. It took him about ten minutes and then, “Try that. I wrote a simple program that when you enter ‘composition’ and then the name of what you want, it pulls it from the computer for you. It… May not work perfectly, I’ve never worked with a Fleet computer system, but it’s a pretty basic little program.”
~ Zoi
Dradvia scooted over when he sat down. She didn’t seem to tense up though. She watched him covertly as he typed.
When he handed it back she gave him a curious look. “Thanks.” She typed in what she wanted. “It’s in the ecology database. I didn’t think to look there. Now to remember what else she put in it.”
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
He smiled. “Yeah, but this way, you don’t even have to look for it. Type what you want, and it’ll give it to you. What are you trying to make?”
~ Zoi
“Thank you,” she smiled just a little. “Risan bean casserole. Ãmma made it for us at the orphanage. It was wonderful. My version of comfort food I guess.”
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
Sisnil nodded. “My brother and I like bisburil salad. It’s a Betazoid dish.... Vash makes it so well.” He sighed softly. “I’ve been at the beck and call of the Syndicate so long I’ve had the chance to try a lot of Orion food. Most of it is good - if you have the taste for a lot of spice.”
~ Zoi
“I tired a lot at the Academy, or I tried.” She wasn’t exactly given food when she was captive. It was edible… barely, and usually made her sick. If she had behaved they would have given her the best of everything. “We use a lot of herbs and spices on Risa. Not all at once all the time, but a large variety.”
“Who’s Vash?” She couldn’t help the instant need to know at the way he said that name.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
“Someone on my crew.” He said. “My brother and I did a job for her father, an Orion and part of the Syndicate. As thanks… He offered her to us.” Sisnil sighed. “It’s like I said… I’m not a slaver. But if we hadn’t taken her, he’d have sold her to someone else. So I put her on my crew.”
~ Zoi
She tried to control the suspicion, bit stronger than that was the fear and heartache for this unknown woman. “So, she’s part of your crew, but as far as the Syndicate,” and he worked for them, “is concerned she’s property?” It was said like a question. “What does she do on your crew? Other than cook?”
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
“She’s not property to me.” Sisnil said firmly. “She’s our… infiltrator. She’s Orion/Deltan.” He looked at her. “We don’t make her a maid. She does what she wants. And she does have an actual job with the crew. She gets an equal share of profits.”
~ Zoi
She wasn’t sure why, but she believed him. Maybe she just wanted to believe. “Maybe not to you, but that won’t stop the way they would treat her if she ever left or was taken.”
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
Sisnil grinned. “The way she and Norry are, she’s not going anywhere. I think he’s been planning to save up and buy her out. Free her.”
~ Zoi
Something relaxed in her. “They … like each other then?” She ran a handbthrough her hair. “I hope he can get her out.” She hoped this Vash wasn’t using Sisnil’s brother just for that. Dradvia had seen that before too.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
Sisnil nodded. “Me too. Out of the Syndicate? No. But buy her out of being property? I have full confidence he can do that.”
~ Zoi
“I hope it works out for them.” She did. “I’m sure she will be relieved.” It wasn’t the best outcome, not to Dradvia’s thinking, but it was better.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
Sisnil nodded. “Did you get your replicator recipe working?” He asked, changing the subject.
~ Zoi
“Oh, ummm,” she hadn’t looked at it once they started talking. “Let’s see,” she searched for a few things and tried to indicate the texture and consistency. She felt lighter, hopeful, anticipating the dish and the memories and emotions that went with it. She got up and walked over to the replicator and input the file.
What came out was wrong. He knew it immediately from the sharp disappointment that pinged her stomach. She couldn’t even eat it. It was a giant lump of rock, and scalding hot. With a heavy sigh she sent it back through the reclimator.
She picked up her drink as she sat back down. “Thanks for the help. I’ll keep trying.”
