David left straight from sickbay after giving the order, prepping the displays in the conference room with all of the data that had been compiled thus far. That accomplished, he replicated a cup of black tea and stood by the door, waiting to greet each DH as they arrived.Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive Officer“I’m still not sure we’ll ever put together every piece of the puzzle, Commander,” Bryson said as he approached the conference room door. “To think that the Jem’Hadar were here, but now aren’t, and without a trace?” The Captain was sure that each of the department heads would have some sort of update , though he had primarily wanted to here about his guests in Sickbay
Captain Bryson Erin
Commanding OfficerDr. García was able to keep pace and had entered shortly after Commander Morris.
“The Jem’Hadar, here?” she asked, obviously not up to date on all the knowledge. Then again that is what the meeting was for. Mention of the Jem’Hadar did put her a bit on alert, as it was during the Dominion War she earned her cybernetic eye.
“As far as I know,” Rosa started, “The Captain of the Pythagoras was injured, in critic condition. Judging from the injuries, it looked like he was attacked. Some claimed it might have been animal attack, but there is no evidence of it. You don’t think that…”
She trailed off, a puzzled look on her face.
|Dr. García,
CMO/CNS|“I wouldn’t rule anything out, but I highly doubt they’re down on the planet unless Remy was to find anything stating otherwise,” The Captain replied, hoping the squash any Dominion fears.
Rosa nodded, acknowledging the Captain’s statement.
Alita entered and caught everything mid conversation. Grabbing a cup of coffee and slipping into a chair she could only think of the sehlat that she had seen for quite some time. Was that the injury they were talking about?
- Alita
Captain Bryson Erin
Commanding Officer“Besides the Captain, there is also the ship’s physician, and that woman who was with him. They did not appear to be in as worse shape as the others.” She obviously wasn’t up to date on where exactly those two had come from either.
|Dr. García,
CMO/CNS|
“Yes,” David agreed, “Lt. David Barclay and Weena, the Kein who he mentioned in the logs we reviewed from sickbay. I’m hoping they might be able to help us piece together what exactly happened here.”Having just returned from the surface, Remy hurried to the conference room. He had removed his EV suit on the shuttle trip back to the Wolverine.
As he plopped down into a chair, he tossed a sealed evidence baggie on the table. I was filled with a white powdery substance. Pointing to the baggie, he added, “DAT is all I found at de Jem’Hadar base–ketrecel white, or what’s left of it after it dries out. I was only able to fin’ dat, ‘cuz whoever else ransacked dat base could no’ get into de safe.”
Captain Remy Boudreaux
Starfleet Intelligence USS Wolverine“I’m guessing it’s been abandoned since the war ended then,” The Captain stated, “We can have Lieutenant Spencer log the contents for future reference.” Bryson peered at the time panel. He was going to give his people another 5 minutes to arrive before they had to start the meeting.

Commanding OfficerDavid raised an eyebrow at the powder. He’d seen samples of ketracel-white, of course, but was too young to have encountered the substance in the field. “Interesting,” he noted, mostly to himself.
Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive Officer“Indeed,” Bryson replied, “It’s oddly both fascinating and horrendous how a species could be bioengineered to be dependent on a substance,” The CO stated. While not having seen the Jem’Hadar in person since he was in the academy during the war, he did experience the attack on Earth and lost quite a few friends.
Captain Bryson Erin
Commanding OfficerDavid started for a moment, not having full realized he voiced his thought. “I’d argue more towards the terrifying end of that range.”
Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive OfficerBryson shrugged and smiled, “They were slaves to the Ketracel, so do we blame them or their creators?” Captain Erin asked in return.
Captain Bryson Erin
Commanding Officer“It does not matter whose was at fault, the war was awful regardless,” Dr. García responded with uncharacteristic gravity, “And you are sure they are not still here? I’m that case, I would be more afraid of what could have driven them off.”
|Dr. García,
CMO/CNS|The Captain nodded in agreement. “I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough,” Bryson stated. The CO looked around the room and found that not even half of his senior staff had arrived yet.
“Are you sure you made the announcement, XO?” Captain Erin asked half-jokingly.
Captain Bryson Erin
Commanding Officer
“Yes, sir,” David said, “but I can make it again. =/\= “Senior staff, please report to the conference room,” =/\= he repeated as a ship-wide announcement.Alita chose that moment to speak up.
“Even if the Jem Hadar were just acting like preprogrammed automatons addicted to some substance or other, they share some of the blame and yes, that war was absolutely terrifying. I hope never to hear of its like again.”
- Alita, MO/COS
“Likewise,” the XO agreed. “That is something I sincerely hope we never have to face.”
Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive OfficerThe door slid open and the newly-assigned Tactical Officer stepped in. “Excuse me, I didn’t know if you needed me in this or not. Sorry if I’m interrupting?” she asked politely, but directly.
McCallister, Tactical
“Not at all, Lieutenant,” David said. “Please feel free to take a seat.”
Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive OfficerMcCallister took a seat at the far end of the table and set her hands in her lap. She nodded to some of the others seated in the room, but remained silent.
McCallister, Tactical
“Alright, we don’t have the time to wait longer. Captain, the floor is yours,” David said, standing and motioning the meeting to order. “Hopefully, the others slip in late.”Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive OfficerRosa straightened up and gave a quick nod, acknowledging the commencement of the meeting.
|Dr. García,
CMO/CNS|Remy cleared his throat. “So, after all we ‘ave discovered, are we any closer to discoverine what it is we need to discover?”
Captain Remy Boudreaux
Starfleet Intelligence USS Wolverine“I certainly hope so, sir,” David replied. “Department updates first, then we’ll get to our guests’ report. Security?”
Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive Officer“I believe just about everything has been covered. I also have some things in engineering that I’m still waiting to get the analysis back from.”
Truth be told, Alita was pretty happy to have this mission behind them.
- Alita. MO/COS
“Lovely,” David replied. “Glad to hear it, and I’ll make sure they get that to you ASAP. Tactical?”Lieutenant Commander David Morris
Executive Officer
Veronica looked at the XO and said “All tactical systems are functional at a hundred percent. We have a full complement of probes and torpedoes, with casings available for another twenty.” The mechanical irises of the glowing blue eyes cycled slightly and she said “Currently tracking six vessels at long range. All registered, none of them have a course that fits the mission parameters, Commander.”
