“Lieutenant Morris, what do you think our options would be for next step?” Bryson asked. The Wolverine had a multipronged approach on what they could do, though the CO was seeing if Morris could prioritize what might be important to the mission vs a foot note in the Captain’s log.

“Well, sir,” David said, “We should remain ready to beam the away team back over if they run into danger. Our options past that will rely greatly on the information in these logs and what the away team finds - whatever they find will alter our understanding of the situation, so it would be unwise to make any major decisions until new information comes to light. I recommend we maintain our current status of readiness, but do not yet act further. The most critical information would be that of the away team, as the logs are less current and will only aid in understanding what led to what is happening now.” He turned back to the logs, but with posture indicating he was not ignoring the captain.

OOC: Hey Gene, would you be able to paint us a picture of what the logs would say? :)

The logs would likely be system related - ship status, communications channels if open, perhaps sensor information if active, tactical status as that would give information away. While a lot of that would be ship status the pieces could be put together to fathom what had happened by science and engineering for sure.

“I’m going to forward these logs down to the labs, sir,” David said. “I don’t think I can do anything more from here with them, but I would be willing to guess they could down there.” He sent off the data and then turned back to face Erin. “I suppose now all we can do here is wait.”

Steve wanted to know if the logs made to Engineering and what his team has found. =/\= Lt. Johnson to Engineering. What have found out about the logs? Any information on maleware or other signs of tampering?=/\=

Bryson turned to listen. This would be the first update they’ve received in some time, and they would need nearly all of Engineering and Operations to go over the ship’s systems if there was signs of a computer infection.

=^=on my way with these damn logs. Need to get them out of my possession asap.=^=. Alita said making her way to engineering at a fast clip. She also wanted out of that damn suit. Perhaps it was time to delve into her extra dimensional packing and bring forth some goodies Uncle cord had given her before she left for the wolverine oh so long ago.

=^= Thanks Commander! =^= Captain Erin called out. The CO walked over to the tactical station and started to scan the immediate area. It was at least an hour since they received an updated set of scans, and Bryson wanted to see how his “friends” were faring in their little war.

David switched which way his legs were crossed, sat for a moment, then stood and started slowly pacing between the station he’d been sitting at and the central command area. He kept his focus on the viewscreen, waiting to see if anything developed.

While waiting for the scans to come in, the CO noticed an incoming message on the tactical HUD. It was from Starfleet to him, so Bryson decided to send it to his ready room and read it there.

“Counselor, you have the Bridge,” Bryson said just before disappearing into the Ready Room.

OOC: I won’t actually sim that part, but I’ll emerge from the Ready Room in my next post with the IC promotion from CNS to XO.

“Aye, sir,” David acknowledged, stopping his pacing as he reached the command chair and sitting down. He glanced around the increasingly empty bridge, quickly making sure he was roughly familiar with every station’s status, then crossed one ankle over the other and sat forward in the chair, observing the viewscreen silently.

A little over 30 minutes later, Captain Erin emerged from his Ready Room and stepped onto the Bridge. Bryson held out a PaDD to the Counselor as he approached the man in the center chair.
David stood as the captain approached, stepping aside to allow the Erin access to the chair.
“Looks like you’ll find yourself spending a little more time in that chair, Commander,” The CO stated, patting the man on the back.

“Command is recalling yet, another, one of my XO’s, and they’ve put you in as my Number 1,” Bryson explained, gesturing to the PaDD. “Operations should be dropping a new uniform off at your new quarters as well.” Captain Erin laughed, seeing how medical blue wasn’t going to work for his new XO.

David took the PADD and scanned the orders, stunned, then nodded as he regained his bearings. “Yes, sir,” he said. “I’ll change after my shift, if that’s alright? I’ll begin on my new responsibilities immediately, and work during recreation time until I’m caught up and fully informed on the ship’s status.” The newly named XO still looked somewhat dazed, but he did a fair job of hiding it and standing to attention. “Should I expect a meeting later to be brought up to speed, or is all of that information freely available to me at my leisure?” he asked.

There was a signal that the shuttle from the planet had docked with the Wolverine. Medical attention required and two Vulcans from the archaeological team were aboard.

David glanced at the signal, then back at the captain. “Sir, with your permission, I’d like to go see to those patients,” he said, “seeing as we currently have no active CMO. I imagine anything they can tell us will be important information as well, so it seems wise for me to be there as the XO in addition to as a medic.”

“Yes, Commander,” Bryson quickly replied. Under normal circumstances, the Captain Erin would also join them, but he couldn’t leave the Bridge at the moment.

Once granted permission, he hurried to the turbolift, tapping his badge as he went. =/\=”Morris to sickbay. I need a medical team to meet me in the shuttlebay as soon as possible.”=/\=

While this was going on the Pythagoras was still on the main viewer. Along the side of said viewer the system readout showed the location of the shuttle investigating group with the Jem’hadar base and beyond that on the edge of the system the dance of the Kien and Wis ships that had not shown much attention toward the Wolverine as yet.

=^=Boudreaux to de Wolverine. Ens. Baker an’ I ‘ave been explorine de cavern behind de Jem’hadar ship. We found an abandoned base, no’ in very good shape. De mystery is dat someone got ‘ere before us–signs of forced entry on a number of cabinets, broken into crates, weapon lockers. . . . no way o’ knowine if dey found anytine.=^=

=^= Remy, can you and Baker perform some forensics of the areas that were disturbed? =^= Bryson asked. The Captain moved over to the Operations station and began running a scan of the area to see if there were any shuttle or warp signatures out of that area. =^= Also, if there’s any logs or data of the sort that you can find, bring it along and maybe we can figure out what they were looking for and if it was found =^=

OOC: Good segue there!

Celador entered the bridge, he took a brief look around and noticed that that tactical station needed manning. He approached the station, got a quick brief from the NE at tactical and logged in. He noticed that the captain was looking for warp signatures on his display.

“Captain, I just returned from the surface.” Cel stated from tactical. “What are we looking for?” He asked, as he took a look at his scanners.

“Oh, Lieutenant?!” Bryson responded, startled. “I’m trying to scan the area for any recent warp trails out of the area,” The CO said as he mirrored the workstation onto the view screen. “I have Captain Boudreaux checking out a nearby Jem’Hadar ship and cavern, but since there aren’t any Jem’Hadar to be found, I’m trying to see where they might have gone,” Bryson stated.

Cel immediately tuned his scanners to look for signs that a ship was recently here, specifically Jem’Hadar ships. He also looked to see if there were anyplaces that a ship might hide, such as an asteroid or comet.

The trail was cold. Their shuttle trail showed up and there was a weak trace that was singularly residual that disappeared almost as soon as it was found. Indeed, one may have more luck with the data crystal brought aboard from the Jem’hadar ship.
