The subsystem for the II drive was powered up remotely from the Bridge.

=/\= Now preloading data into AI subsystem module. =/\= announced Wells over the comm.

Moments passed, and she then announced, =/\= Booting AI subsystem… =/\=

Within a minute, the EDDIE subsystem loaded. And it spoke… “Hi! You must be Lt. Petrov! I am so happy to meet you! How can I best help you?”
It was rather cheerful… overly enthusiastically cheerful.

A small sigh was heard from the comm.

Petrov did not like AI’s in general. Surely not ones with overly cheerful responses. Made him wonder just how balanced the system was. This one sounded unhinged but he would wait and see. He waited for the system to run its diagnostic. The less he spoke with it the better.

Petrov CE

As he waited his suspicions about Wells came up again. He still felt she had been leaving things out this whole mission. However he also kept his eye on his own team. He did not want whatever that communicable disease was infecting him. He was also somewhat miffed he had not come up with something devious to do to the COS, who was in quite the vulnerable position right now.

Petrov CE

OOC: Darn, I was expecting some Iron Maiden “Run To The Hills” to start broadcasting ship wide. EDDIE=Iron Maiden mascot! –Terry

OOC: Blast from the past. I’m all in with the Maiden.

OOC: Sure, but being that Infinite Improbability Drive is from the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe… universe… having an AI that is emotionally too happy to do everything is in line with Eddie the Computer from the Heart of Gold spacecraft.

I am happy to report all systems currently detected that are on in working perfect condition!” exclaimed EDDIE excitedly, “It would please me very much to tell you everything is working but unfortunately, since the drive is inactive, I can only confirm that the drive is ready to be started and there isn’t any damage currently detected with the drive! Starting the plasma process will allow me to happily report the full functional status! I’d be happy to do that at any time when you request so! =/\=

“Sir, the trader’s ETA is currently 1 hour and 20 minutes. I am detecting the trader on long range sensors. They do not appear to have yet detected us,” said Ops.

Petrov grimaced at the AI’s interactions.

Again Mikel had no intentions of pushing one button without the Captains name on it. Every situation needed a scapegoat.

“Hey Mikel! While we sit here and wait, is there anything I can do for you at all? Just name it, it would be my darnest pleasure to do something for you,” said EDDIE overenthusiastically, “Perhaps a game?”
