Bryson looked around the Bridge and relaxed a bit, for the most part, they had everything covered. Petrov and the Security Chief should be heading to the Pythagoras, while T’Mor and Osa are down in Engineering taking a look at the container. The only person that didn’t have a task to do would be his Counselor, Lieutenant Morris.Commander Erin, in the meantime, took a seat in the center chair. “Do we have any new reports on the nearby activity?” Bryson asked out to his bridge crew.

In the last little while ..
The Myst sun had emitted a solar flare that was slowly making its way in their direction. It wouldn’t affect anything but may make communications spotty - aka some static, but it was yet a while in coming to them and was not about to make any kind of direct ‘hit’ figuratively speaking. ETA was in some hours yet. The interesting thing would be more scientific in that its passage through the gaseous clouds were generating an almost aurora borealis effect.
An additional Wis ship had entered the system at the far reaches and the two Wis ships were moving to a rendezvous. The Kein ship has moved off because of that and is moving more in system but not on a course that would put it that close to you.
Sensors do pick up what ‘might’ be another ship. It was just a trace and was located in a mineral rich area of the ‘conglomerate’ proto-world. It could just as easily have been a detection of the mineral content but for a moment sensors suggested it was of a refined nature. Alas it was only a ‘moment’ before the planetoid shifted and either what was detected was a) not there and a false reading or b) possibly something or c) a prospector ship from any of the races interested in the system having a ship there.

“Let us maintain position for now,” Commander Erin announced to the NE at Helm. The aCO was told that the only system that could be affected were comms, so he wasn’t too concerned with the flare. His main concern was the possible ship readings the Wolverine received near the proto world. Bryson decided that their priority would be on the Pythagoras and the strange thing being examined down in Engineering.
aCO
Bryson broke the awkward silence and turned to his NE at Operations. “Would a probe be able to give us better readings on the possible ship near the proto world?” The aCO asked, “Maybe they’d have some more answers for us.”
Erin
aCOBasil was manning his station at Tactical, an uneasiness growing as he monitored the Kein and Wis vessels. It wasn’t helped by the possibility of another ship entering. “If we were to send a probe sir,” Basil said in his Scottish accent that turned his S’s to Sh’s, “It seems it would be best to do so now before the flare has the chance to affect the relay of its findings. Perhaps we can focus long-range sensors on the area in the meantime?” Basil looked once more to where the Pythagoras was on his monitors and thought of COS Alita onboard. With what they were able to get from the Pythagoras Captain’s logs, Basil didn’t like having too many of the crew away from the Wolverine.
Bryson nodded in agreement. “Send out a probe towards the proto world where that ship could be,” The aCO ordered, finally taking a seat in the center chair. “Once this flare runs its course we should be able to receive the data from the probe.” Commander Erin stated. “While it’s launching, see if our long range scanners can pick it up.” He added, not holding out hope.
Erin
aCOBasil nodded and carried out the order, launching the probe toward where the anomaly had registered. “Probe launched sir,” he said looking up from his panel.
-Petty Officer Bake (Tac/Spec)
Sensors could lock onto the planetoid and derive some data from it - that it looked to be something that was a cluster of rocks packed together like a gravel pocked snowball but on a rather larger scale. It was mineral rick with heavy ores. The sensor trace that they had gotten which they were investigating was not in direct sight, having turned in its slow orbit away from their position. The probe should take care of that once it arrived.
- Wookiee“Sir,” Basil said as he registered the readings coming in, “Scans show that the planetoid isn’t altogether solid.” Basil attempted to make sense of the readings, “I seems that the planetoid is made up of several bodies held together. I’m detecting a lot of mineral deposits. However, nothing on that odd sensor reading yet, sir. Hopefully the probe will be able to give us a clearer picture.”
“Would make for a good mining establishment…” Commander Erin muttered as he concentrated on the scans. “Let me know what comes in when the probe gets into range.”

=^=I’ve detected Romulan DNA sir. I need to run further scans to find out how old it is. I thought you would want to know.=^=
- Alita, MO/COS/CIO
=^= Understood, Commander.=^= Bryson called out. It would be only a few more seconds before the probe began sending back data, and he was hoping that possible reading was not a Romulan ship. =^= We might have a ship hiding out in the proto world, but we should find out in a few moments. Is there anything else of value found?=^=
Erin
aCO=^=We’ll download the logs we found in sickbay=^= she replied.
- Alita, MO/COS/CIO
=^= Acknowledged, Commander,=^= Bryson replied, curious as to what they might have found, =^=Be advised, there is a flare inbound which will make comms shaky at best. Please return when you have everything you need, Wolverine out.=^=
=^= Ensign T’Mor to bridge, the data has been extracted from the container, I will be returning with additional information.=^=
-€> Ensign T’Mor, Science
=^= I’ll be waiting, Ensign,=^= The CO simply stated. Things were beginning to look better, but of course, that would depend on how useful the information was that was retrieved.
Erin
COBasil had tensed at the mention that the Romulans might be involved. This mission seemed to be getting more hazardous by the second. But, that seemed par for the course on this ship. He felt a bead of sweat begin to crawl down the side of his head as he waited for the probe to return its findings. He dabbed away at it and looked from his console to the main viewer.
-Petty Officer Baker (Tac/Spec)
The probe shifted around the planetoid and was able to catch a glimpse of it - it was a snub nosed vessel with most of it wedged into the a fissure within the planetoid. Little else on detail could be fathomed but one which Baker might sweat even more on - that while a fraction of it was visible the metallurgy came out as Jem’Hadar. Perhaps the further bonus was that there was no power signatures coming from it.
- WookieeBasil’s eyes grew wide at the readings, “Sir, I believe the probe has located the ship we saw on our sensors. It’s Jem’Hadar, sir.” Basil paused to swallow before continuing, “They seem to be caught in a fissure within the planetoid and there are no power signatures coming from it.” Basil’s eyes hardened as he turned to the viewer. Evidence of Romulans on the Pythagoras, the remnants of a possible skirmish between the Wis and Kein, with both ships still in the area, and now the Dominion. What had they gotten themselves into?
Petty Officer Baker (Tac/Spec)
“This doesn’t make any sense....” Captain Erin murmured to himself, “None of it does.” Bryson tapped on the armrest of his chair for a few moments, then stood up. “Petty Officer Baker, take us to yellow alert and reach out to the away team on the Pythagoras for an update.” The CO made his way over to the science station and hovered over the scans from the probe as a thought of a plan.
Erin
COBasil nodded and did as he was told. He brought the ship to Yellow Alert and then hailed the away team on the Pythagoras. =^=Wolverine to LT. Commander Claire. Requesting status update.=^=
=^=Finishing up here I think.=^=
- Alita, MO/COS/CIO
Closer up focus on the nose of the ship showed pitting along their hull. Evidently the metal alloys making it up was not entirely immune to the spatial effects that caused breakdown in metallic compounds. A close up analysis would be required to determine what happened and why it was there.
- WookieeThe turbolift doors opened and T’Mor had a certain sense of déjà vu coming back up onto the bridge.
“Captain,” she announced shortly after the doors opened. Stepping down to meet Erin where he stood on the bridge, she walked with more urgency than before.
Though uncertain of what happened herself, she attempted to relay the most important details,
“The container displayed some very, interesting behavior. The data at first seemed inaccessible. However, by some means as of yet unknown, the data was automatically transferred to the Holosuite computers.”
-€> Ensign T’Mor, Science
“The holo…?” Bryson said turning away from the scans received from the Dominion ship, “This day keeps on getting odd every minute.” The Captain quickly turned to Baker. =^= Ensign Black and Petty Officer Osa to the Bridge, please. =^= He called out over the ship’s PA system. “Baker, when Ensign Black arrives, I need the both of you to take a shuttle over to the Jem’Hadar ship for a close-up observation.” Captain Erin then turned back to Ensign T’Mor. “Ensign, when Osa arrives, head down to the Holosuite and figure out what’s going on”.
“Any questions?” The CO asked the two standing before him.
Erin
COBasil nodded, “Aye sir.” He began to get ready to take black on the away mission.
-Petty Officer Baker (Tac/Spec)
Osa’s voice came over the communicator. =^=On my way.=^= He dropped what he was doing and began heading to the bridge.
