You might be right.” Azuria agreed, glancing over the results to search for any high-levels of concentration for chronitons, or the complete opposite, the lack thereof. “We might be dealing with more of a ‘pull’ effect, for there is nowhere with striking levels of chronitons.. But there is one gap where there appears to be nearly nil.”

“Put it up and overlay the incident report. Let’s see what we have here…” Ahearn said and looked at the incoming data.

“On screen, and overlaid.” Auzria took a step back to allow for a better range if viewing for the science chief.,

The data showed a transport of a group of individuals from one ship to another. When the subjects arrived, they had appeared to have decreased in age by approximately ten years. Medical scans confirmed the appearance. No chroniton tests were performed, but it was postulated by the Science staff on the receiving ship that an alteration of the particles may have somehow caused the difference.

Aheran looked at Voq and said “I just had a thought. There is a commonality between all of these incidents. Every single one.”

Voq glanced over, raising an eyebrow. “What is the commonality, sir? No precise readings were given for this instance, only a postulate that seems to be able to describe the possibilities. Only, we aren’t quite certain what type of alteration they’re speaking of, whether that is change in pattern, concentration or the particle itself..?” Auzria tilted her head, curious to what he was seeing.

Ahearn smiled and said “All the incidents involve living biological matter. Not nonbiological. We don’t have any reports of a cargo container suddenly appearing as a rusted out piece of junk; but the biological contents inside the container have. People have aged forward and backward, but their clothes are the same. Armed Away Teams have come back as septuagenarians, but their phasers are powered and functioning normally. And look here: a group of four beings, one an android. The three biological subjects aged three to five years, but not the android… at least as far as anyone could tell.”

“So.. You’re saying there is something about their biochemistry? Something that is responding to the levels of chronitons –or lack thereof- emitted by the transporter?” Auzria rose an eyebrow.

Ahearn said simply “I am saying it is biochemistry in and of itself. These errors only effect living matter. Not inorganic.”
