Having gotten a physical out of the way was a good diversion for the big hurdle in any new posting: meeting your superior officer. Jamie trusted his skills as a chemist, and more so, as a scientist, but despite all that, it was impossible not to notice a lingering sense of unease building as he approached the Wolverine’s lab. Taking deep breaths, holding them for moments as he made his way to the door, he stopped before it, and entered when the door opened. That sense of unease is partially why he was looking forward to a posting like this, on the Wolverine, anyways. There’s no sense in fearing it, Jamie hoped.

“Hello?” Jamie spoke as he entered, glancing about. His body tensed up, but just as quickly relaxed. For every lab accident he’s seen aboard a starship, he has to have experienced a thousand more moments of joy - and for as much as the moment felt turbulent, he was just happy to find ‘home’. His smile turned from one of uncertainty to one of confidence. He was ready. Probably.

Well, so long as he was able to find the Chief Scientific Officer, anyways.

“Hello!” Commander Erin exclaimed, jumping up from behind one of the lab tables. “I hope I didn’t frighten you, Ensign,” Bryson said as he made his way around the table.

The XO paused for a moment to receive a PaDD from a passing NE, then turned his attention back to the new officer. “You must be one of the new transfers?” Commander Erin asked.

The First Officer stopped about two feet from the Ensign before glancing at the PaDD he was given. “I think Lieutenant Rhodes gets on duty within the next 20 minutes, but you’re more than welcome to wait here.” Bryson looked up from his PaDD and gestured to an empty stool near one of the tables.
