“I wouldn’t call it ‘haunting’ per say, although, you may be onto a fair track there, Captain.” She turned to the PaDS beside her, pulling up his file, to see if she could find any information on what radiation he might have been exposed to during that period of time.

“Radiation is known to have harmful effects on the body, even in the reproductive organs of humans. Male and female.” She remarked, “It may not show up quickly, but radiation can impact things like your fertility or ability to impregnate, your germinal epithelium, your general endurance, your hormome levels and more. It depends strictly on the radiation your body was susceptible to.”

“Dat ‘as to be it,” Remy replied hopefully. “I was tryine to deactivate a ‘dirty bomb’ when it went off. It was a low level of radia-SHON, but I was caught directly in de blast. I suffered severe burns to my torso an’ upper body. After de reconstructive surgery an’ treatment, de doctors gave me a clean bill of ‘ealth. Could de have missed sometine?”

“They most certainly could of.” Greve turned away for a second. “I’m going to get a blood sample from you to analyze, and see if there are heightened levels of radiation. Specifically into ionizing radiation. It would be the most impactful, when dealing with a bomb, that is. The thermal radiation might have given you the burns, but it is possible that the ionizing– in whatever form it took, could be the root of your problems here, sir.”

Remy took a deep breath and relaxed just a bit. It felt good to be coming closer to a possible answer. If that was the case, they now had something to work with and figure out some way to get the radiation out of his system once and for all.

“I ‘ave complete fait in you, doctor. I am ‘opine you are on de right track an’ believe you will be able to come up wit’ an effective treatment.”

OOC: I am completely open to the idea that this might be causing the problem and that’s fine if you want to take it in that direction and find a cure!!

OOC: Okay! It would be interesting to try and reverse the impact of radiation. Right now, it isn’t so easily done. But, hey, these guys are in the future— who knows what is possible! Lol

IC: “I can only do my best, Captain.” Greve retrieved a devise in order to take what she needed of his blood, which happened to be a very minimal amount, in the grand scheme of things. “Roll you sleeve up and hold out your arm for me, sir.”

He pulled the sleeve up to reveal his forearm and extended it as requested. As Greve drew the blood, he said with a grin, “I am you’ guinea pig, doctor. Do wit’ me as you will. Jus’ don’ make de problem worse, please, I do ‘ave a reputa-SHON to up’old.”

“I prefer not to call my patients guinea pigs, sir.” There was a smile within her words and upon her face. “Although, I will do my best to figure out the best course of action to treating your symptoms, if my hypothesis regarding the radiation is correct.” She pulled the device away, tapping it to ensure the amount of blood she had retrieved from the man. Turning, she set it into a specific spot, along with her other tools. “You can either wait for the test results, or I can comm you, when they have come in. It shouldn’t take anything more than half an hour, depending on how slim the radiation levels are.”

Rolling the sleeve back down, Remy said, “I would prefer to wait, if dat is okay wit’ you? I ‘ave de patience of a saint.”

“If that is what you prefer, Captain.” She smiled over at the man, inclining her head in acknolwedgement to his decision.

The captain slid off the bio bed and strolled casually around the Sickbay, giving it a subdued inspection.

“I know de Wolverine’s sickbay is probably not what you are used to doctor, but I ‘ope it is adequate? I guess de designers decided a small crew would inly need a small medical bay, no?”

“I suppose they did. Most would not incorporate the thought of a vast majority of a crew being injured, or any extreme scenarios like that. Although, it seems Wolverine is prone to such things, no?”

“Oui,” he replied.

“It is small, but my staff and I make it work. It might be a small bay, but they certainly do their damndest to give each patient the treatment they deserve.” She glanced at a few of the officers, “Fairly impressive, really.”

“Good. I am glad you find it to satifactory to you’ needs. An’ considerine, she is a battleship, I will do my damnedest to keep you from ever gettine too busy.”

“All you gotta do is try and keep your people from hurting themselves. And that, Captain, seems to be harder than anything else.” She glanced at the scans to see how far they were coming along, finding they would be done soon. “How long have you been on this ship, sir, if I may ask?”
