“Welcome to de Wolverine, Miss Moreino. I assume you ‘ave ‘ad a chance to settle into you’ cabin?”

Najma nodded and said, “Yes, I have settled in. The cabin is a little too small but it is fine, sir.”

The captain continued watching her and said, “You look familiar, Moreino. ‘Ave we served on the same ship somewhere before?”

Boudreaux (CO)

Surely that was a rhetorical question because no one could ever forget her. Najma’s eyes grew wide, she began to sweat, and her hands began to fumble over the console buttons. She must have had a rendezvous with this man at one point, he recognized her and was pointing it out. He was definitely her type, but surely she would have never forgotten that accent. Would she? She looked at him, wiping sweat from her forehead with the back her hand, “Served together? I am not sure, Captain, what do you recall? I am sure I would have remembered if we had.”

Moreino, Operations Specialist

“I scanned you’ file when you came aboard, Ms. Moreino. You’ record looked. . . .familiar. Per’aps de Vanguard, o’ de Saracen, no? Dat’s where I was posted most recently, before takine command of de Wolverine.”

Alita was at her station overhearing the conversation and glanced up to familiarize herself with the new woman.

  • Alita, MO/COS

Even though she had become disoriented by the Captain’s question, Najma noticed the glance from Alita. She frowned at the woman, then sarcastically said, “What is it? Do I look familiar to you as well?”

Moreino, Operations Specialist

Alita smiled at the new face.

“Of course you do. I make certain to review all new crew member’s files so that I can at least know them by sight. Welcome aboard.” Alita said before turning back to her station.

  • Alita, MO/COS

Najma stared at her with steel eyes and did her own assessment. The woman had dark hair, green eyes, and she was slightly taller than herself but skinner. Najma wanted to say more, mock her, tell her that she knew they’d not met before and she needed to make the best use of those green eyes by putting them on her console where they belonged. However, she considered that it was in her best interest to not instigate any unfavorable situations that may end up reflecting on her badly.
Whatever she thought to herself, I don’t have time for this. she focused her attention back on her console. Noticed she had caused a minor error when her hand fumbled over the controls earlier and worked on correcting the issue.

Moreino, Operations Specialist

Remy had spun back around in his seat to see the viewscreen ,but kept his attention focused on the conversation between the two woman. He grinned to himself while listening. Moreino definitely had fangs and wasn’t afraid to bear them, while at the same time Alita had replied in a calm professional manner. His mind started to drify as he pictured the start of a cat fight between the two. . . . in jell-o, just to make things interesting.

Boudreaux (CO)

“Just add one more under the big tent.” Mikel said to himself but loud enough for others to hear him.

Great! Another misfit on Misfit Island.

Petrov CE

Najma scoffed, “I see some people are accustomed to talking out loud to themselves,” then she said rolled her eyes at the man.

Moreino, COO

Mikel decided at that time to ignore the low ranking nobody and get some revenge later. Of course it would not be challenging and like picking on a three year old. He would not prioritize it very high.

Petrov CE

Najma was not surprised when the man did not respond. They usually didn’t to avoid confrontation. Whatever. She looked at him, scoffed and thought to herself, Yeah, that’s what I thought....whoever you are… You don’t know me, so stay in your lane.

Moreino, Operations Specialist

“This should be interesting..” Bryson said quietly to himself after Petrov and Moreino exchanged ‘pleasantries’. Thankfully, the pair were stationed on either side of the Bridge which meant no one would get in each other’s way.

Erin (XO)

Mikel considered the new player on the ship as an annoyance more than anything. However if he could use her to keep others off balance while ruining her obviously fragile standing in SF then even better. He needed a new toy to play with since he and the XO had decided to lay down arms.

Petrov CE

While the CE was thinking about her Najma didn’t dedicate anymore of her precious thoughts to him.
Now after seeing the Captain and the XO of the Wolverine she figured that her time on this ship wouldn’t be so bad after all. Both were pleasing to the eye and so far she didn’t have a problem with taking orders from either of them.
The truth was Najma Moreino didn’t believe anything bad would ever happen to her, regardless whether or not she could fulfill her agreed upon probationary period on this ship. In any case, she was going to put forth her best efforts to successfully complete her assignment on the ship, but anyone who decided to insert themselves unnecessarily into her path or anyone who wanted to blow smoke her way would be scorched with fire.

Moreino, OS

Remy had sat silently half-listening to the interactions of his crew. He wanted to find out as much as he could about the the Montoya and the Golseniax system and the 10th planet in particular.

“Lt. Rhodes and Crosby, fin’ out everytine you can ‘bout de Golseniax. I know she’s a colony, but is dere any contested areas in the system, or somebodies dat may no’ wan’ ‘er coloniza-SHON to continue.?”

The Captain was having second thoughts about his next orders, but Moreino was going to have to learn to work with and get along with everybody on the ship. If she could work with Petrov, getting along with everybody else would be a breeze. The warrant officer definitely had a chip on her shoulder that needed to be knocked off. . . or at least ground down to a flake.

“Lt. Petrov, I wan’ you and Ms. Moreino to go over de specs of de Montoya. See if dere was anytine wit’ ‘er internal systems to cause ‘er demise.”

Lt. Claire, go over de video footage again, frame by frame if you ‘ave to. You’ job is to check anytine external dat caused ‘er to explode. We need some answers before we get to de system people.”
