Townsend nodded and gave a small smile, =^= Very well Commander, we can convert one of our storage rooms into a makeshift habitat for them but we have no way of beaming them aboard anyway, however, your chief engineer is rather good when it comes to out the box thinking or so I’ve been told by my crew, I’m sure when the time comes everyone and everything we can save will be, good luck commander. Mikel made note of the comment. A reference he might need down the road. He wished the bubbling Captain of his own ship saw and recognized true talent and accomplishment as this one did. If the Malaga was a more recognized command he might request a transfer but alas it was not.

“I can only do so much. Every minute brings more complications to transporting. Much less a species we do not know. Federations species are in the system. It can adjust, I can adjust, to that even in less than perfect conditions. An unknown species? Well that gets tricky. The pattern buffers would be seeing them for the first time. Hard to latch onto and reconstruct. ” Mikel said out loud and toward the XO.

Petrov CE

“Our window is closing. If we are going to do something now is the time.” He called out.

Petrov CE

Reilly looked at Petrov and said “I concur the situation isn’t ideal, Lieutenant. But… they die if the planet goes up, so we at least try.” Reilly looked at the Science station. “Use the juvenile one that came back with us as a sensor template and scan for similar life signs. Mr. Petrov, as we locate them try and get a fix for transport. Do your best.” and then a thought occurred to him. Looking back at the science station he said “While you scan, see if you can get any geological information… specifically see if this planet has experienced periods of geological upheaval like this in the past.”

Reilly, XO

“A template. That’s a good idea. We can use it to use do a genetic template and just scan and transport anything that comes close. We…might lose some…but this is the best way we can get most of them.” Petrov said as the wheels turned in his head.

“Just do your best, Mr. Petrov. That’s usually better than most, anyway.” Reilly said with a quick nod.

He quickly went to the engineering station and then looked at science.

“Science send me the closest genetic map you have.” He said to the science station.

Petrov CE

Reilly looked at the comms station. “Send the Malaga our idea. Mr. Petrov, when you get the buffers programmed, send the specs to the Malaga and maybe they can help as well. Okay, everybody… let’s see how good we can be at finding lobsters in an exploding volcano.” and he took a seat in the CO’s chair.

Reilly, XO

OOC: I can rp it all or we can wait for the CSO to give some input on the genetic mapping or even medical.

OOC: Go for it Sid. I am going through Jakes notes to wrap this up, so go forth and conquer young man!

Mikel began reviewing the information as it flashed. He saw that the data was not complete and defragmented. However he ran refragmentation program of his own used to recalibrate engine programs that had become unstable. It was to say the least experimental. He ran it twice and reached a 88.7% match rate, He was using a program that was designed for zeros and ones but in the computer world and not in the living biological one. One thing he had learned as an engineer was that all systems came down to zeros and ones, biological or other wise.

“Ready. No guarantees. Best I can do.” He called out.

Petrov CE

The results came back to the engineer as quickly as possible. They were exactly what the engineer was hoping for. The engine became stable and was ready to go.

GM Wombat

“Energizing.” He called out and executed the process hoping what they were bringing aboard the ship was not going to kill them all. “Cargo holding and Security Holding will receive them directly.”

Petrov CE

The lift doors slid open and Remy stepped onto the bridge. His uniform was singed around his ankles and ash smudges were strewn about his face, but he still appeared alert.

“Gimme an update, Reilly. Are we all aboard? What about the colonists and natives?

Boudreaux (CO)

Mikel thought to himself that the Captain looked like a near roasted chicken. He also mentally noted he had arrived a little late to change the actions they had taken up to this point. He awaited the results of the natives that he was energizing to safety....or not.

Petrov CE

The captain looked at Petrov working furiously, yet calmly at the bridge’s engineering section. He took a few steps in the chief engineers direction.

“Mr. Petrov, give me some good news, s’il vous plaît.”

Boudreaux (CO)

“It looks like we got all the humans and unless I am getting sensor issues we got the non humans as well. Security and Medical probably needs to a headcount. Do they have heads?” Petrov knew they did but decided to make the comment anyway as a form of levity. Probably the Captain would miss that one as Petrov rarely joked and much less so with the Captain whom he had always had a less than great relationship.

Petrov CE

OOC: I am going to jump in here but if you have a different spot or need to edit/delete my post its no problem. The main sim got away from me except for the thread I was in with Dr. Mantis so keep or delete away. It is always fine lol.~ Kate

IC:

“Heads yes but fingers and toes…well we can still function with one or two less if we had to,” Lily’s voice replied back to Petrov as she walked on the bridge. Moving towards Remy, Lily looked at her Captain. “Sir, the last few minutes down there were chaos however Leonore found an alien child and has it on board. It seems to have taken to her and she has a connection with it. I am going to go back down to sickbay but did we find time to save any more of the species.”
