“Dere is a great deal of testosterone flowine trough de body of a 12 year old human boy, Doctor, but no, I am no’ ‘ere to discuss Dr. ‘owser’s transforma-SHON into a man.”
“I’ll give you that one. He is going into that age of puberty. Oh, that poor boy.” Shaidi shook her head. “Figured. What seems to be bothering you, Cap?”
Remy paused, unsure of how to start this particular conversation. Greve would notice that he seemed very uncomfortable. A definite change from the confident CO she had met in his ready room. Finally, he cleared his throat and began. . .
“I am no’sure if you are aware, Dr., but Lt. Sharise an’ I are in a rela-SHON-ship. An intimate rela-SHON-ship. We ‘ave been for quite a while, since we served on de Saracen togedder.”
“I see.” She chose to approach this with caution, wondering where this could lead. Of course, she was not a shrink, so she didn’t know it she could help too much, should this issue present itself mentally.
A fine sheen of sweat began to appear on Remy’s forhead as he ran a hand through his dark hair, pushing it back away from his face.
“De last time we were intimate. . . .I, I . . .experienced some. . . . . difficulties. . . . in my performance. Dis is sometine dat ‘as never, E-ver ‘appened before. I mean, no’ once in my whole life ever. NEVER!!”
Boudreaux (CO)
“Please, take your time. Don’t worry, nobody is listening and this is all completely confidential information.” Shaidi decided to place those boundaries down, so he knew that he wasn’t going to be headed for an interview, the moment he gave up this information.
“Do you mind giving a better description of what was going on? Were you experiencing a drop in desire, as in hormones? Were you experiencing issues with something else?” She didn’t deal too much with reproductive issues, but she did know enough to be able to help by the best of her training. “Also, do you mind sitting still, so I can run a quick scan, to see if everything is okay?”
Lt. Shaidi
CMORemy tried to relax and be still as she began the exam. “We were. . . in bed. Tines were goine well and ‘eatine up as normal, when all of a sudden. . . Ens. Boudreaux, decided to go. . . AWOL.”
He took a deep breath and continued. “De ques-SHON of desire is no’ de issue. Desire for Ayla is always dere, even at inappropriate moments. De more I tought about it, de ensign became even more uncooperative. I passed it off as being tired, extremely tired. Ayla understood, but. . . .I wanted to check to see if it was sometine physical first, before discussine it wit’ de counselor, who also jus’ ‘appens to be my lover.”

OOC: We have a subscriber to this brief episode of.. ‘Oh No. What’s Wrong With the Captain, Now?’
IC: “Yes.. all right.” Shaidi hummed, trying to make this as smooth and awkward-less as was possible. But really, any discussion about the intimate life of anyone, especially her Captain, was going to be weird. “Why don’t you sit pretty for a second. I’m going to run a scan just to make sure your general body health is normal. And if anything is off, we can go from there.”
“I can do notine but sit an’ look pretty, Dr.” He tried to make light of the subject at hand, but his voice wasn’t quite convincing enough. In the world of Intel and espionage, sex was an asset that Remy had always excelled at. Even though he was out of that phase of his life, he was still concerned that he wouldn’t be able to keep Ayla satisfied. Their intimacy, from the very first time , was incredible. And though, their relationship was not based purely on sex, it was an added bonus.
Shaidi rose to her feet, moving across her office where she grabbed a tricorder, returning to the man. “Also, don’t worry, this is all confidential. Whatever happens from here, stays between us. If someone asks why you were in the Sickbay, they’ll get some dumb response.” She assured, attempting to ease any anxiety regarding this situation, if any existed.
“Merci, Dr..”
Raising the tricorder, she briefly scanned the man, watching for anything that was beyond general homeostasis.Lt. Shaidi
He sat quietly while the tricorder whirred to life revealing the inner workings of his anatomy. . . .
Boudreaux (CO)
The scans would show that Remy’s testosterone levels were slightly decreased, but not so much to effect his drive or performance. All of his other vitals were well within the normal range.
“When did you first notice a decline in your performance? And during that time were you sick or feeling perhaps depressed? Anything that might have led to perhaps less energy?” She phrased her questions vaguely but clear enough for the man to understand without her being embarrassingly frank about this. She needed to know how or when it started, to look into, further, what it could have possibly been.
Lt. Shaidi
As Greve continued the scan, for just the briefest of moments, the tricorder picked up an anomalous reading of chronitrons, very brief, and very minuscule. As she scanned over the same area again, the reading had disappeared as if it had never been there. A quick diagnostic scan of the tricorder would show that it was working perfectly. Did she really see that reading for the briefest of moments or had her eyes simply been playing a trick on her.
Running that basic diagnostic scan to fully understand if there was a malfunction in her tricorder, there was a slight furrow in her eyebrows. Had she actually seen a surge of chronitons? Or was she simply tired and imagining things that were not actually there. Whatever it was, she wasn’t going to make any assumptions. Writing it down on the PaDD with his file, she let it go— but she did not wish to forget that there was such an odd occurrence, even if it were just a trick of her consciousness.
“Jus’ de las’ time we were intimate. I ‘spose dere could ‘ave been a gradual decrease, but not enough dat I noticed and not enough dat Ayla noticed, at least she did no’ men-SHON anytine to me ‘bout it.”
Boudreaux (CO)
“I do not mean to sound rude, but there is a possibility she may have been attempting to keep you content.” Shaidi remarked, a small smile upon her features. “Judging by your scans, you do have lower levels of testosterone in your body, but I sincerely doubt that has anything to do with your performance levels.” Greve considered the scans for a second, “Everything else is seems to be all right. You don’t have any viruses, from what I can tell, and it doesn’t seem there is anything to look at here.”
Another bout of consideration, “I would like to look at the blood flow of your body, to see how that is doing, not just regarding your performance but also in general. That might be something that could be causing your decrease,” Greve remarked. “Before I look into this, have you ever experienced anything like vertigo when standing up too quickly?” It was a question to know if low blood pressure might be on the list.
Doctor Shaidi
“Vertigo?” Remy questioned. “No’ dat I can recall, never. I spent a good por-SHON of my younger years ‘angine upside down, suspended in space, by wires, ropes, tethers, rafters, spit an’ glue, an’ all sorts of ‘arnesses, wit’ de distance anywhere between 5 an’ 5000 meters in de air. I ‘ave always ‘ad a very good sense of kinesthetics.”
A thought occurred to the CO. “Dr., before I was given command, before becomine XO of de Vanguard, I was severely injured durine my last miss-SHON for Sec—Starfleet Intelligence. Severe radia-SHON burns an’ poisonine. Dis,” he pointed to his head and torso, “is a result of reconstructive surgery. Believe or no’, I was no’ always dis ‘andsome.”
“Is it possible dat radia-SHON may be comine back to ‘aunt me?”
Boudreaux (CO)
“I wouldn’t call it ‘haunting’ per say, although, you may be onto a fair track there, Captain.” She turned to the PaDS beside her, pulling up his file, to see if she could find any information on what radiation he might have been exposed to during that period of time.
“Radiation is known to have harmful effects on the body, even in the reproductive organs of humans. Male and female.” She remarked, “It may not show up quickly, but radiation can impact things like your fertility or ability to impregnate, your germinal epithelium, your general endurance, your hormome levels and more. It depends strictly on the radiation your body was susceptible to.”
Dr. Shaidi
CMO“Dat ‘as to be it,” Remy replied hopefully. “I was tryine to deactivate a ‘dirty bomb’ when it went off. It was a low level of radia-SHON, but I was caught directly in de blast. I suffered severe burns to my torso an’ upper body. After de reconstructive surgery an’ treatment, de doctors gave me a clean bill of ‘ealth. Could de have missed sometine?”
Boudreaux (CO)
“They most certainly could of.” Greve turned away for a second. “I’m going to get a blood sample from you to analyze, and see if there are heightened levels of radiation. Specifically into ionizing radiation. It would be the most impactful, when dealing with a bomb, that is. The thermal radiation might have given you the burns, but it is possible that the ionizing– in whatever form it took, could be the root of your problems here, sir.”
