Getting the ship onto land was not as challenging as imagined. He found the Wolverine was ready for it and his crew handled it well. He knew this reflected on him as a leader and engineer more than anything else.

His next challenge was the transporters. This much interference could and would make long range transports difficult. He worked on the bufffer pattern enhancers and made sure each team went out with a small suitcase of small enhancers. It was the best they had at this time.

Petrov CE

After working on the buffers he ran some simulations which yielded mix results. He decided to reach out to the Captain.

=^=Petrov to the Captain. My simulations show that even with buffer enhancements we could still have transporter interference at the most distant locations. I suggest we run the buffers through the reflector dish. It will reduce some scanning efficiency from the bandwidth usage of the transporter system but it should clear up any long range transport issues.=^=

The truth was like many of Mikel’s brilliant ideas it ran a risk as well. He had never done this before so he was not certain how well it would work. The fact was that Mikel was usually right but his successes were brilliant and his risky failures could be equally as dramatic.

Replying to the CE, Remy added, =^=Merci, Mr. Petrov. Do whatever you need to get maximum efficiency out of de transporters. We can always take up a new posit-SHON if we ‘ave to.=^=

He then looked at the nearest Ensign.

“Prepare to run the transporter signal and buffers through the deflector dish relay. Here.” Mikel said handing the Ensign the work up.

If all went well he would have another article in the Starfleet Engineers Journal. With that he was sure to get off the Wolverine and into a cushy posting.

“Sir this requires some cable rerouting. Maybe 2 hours or more not to mention the programming. Add one more hour for diagnostics.” The Ensign said looking afraid to speak too much.

“It will take an hour if you stop talking to me. There wont be any diagnostics. Its all correct.” Mikel answered without looking at the insolent ensign. The ensign looked doubtful and scared but scared off and gathered the others needed to make it happen.
