It happens! - Trin

IC: She arrived hastily into the sickbay looking anxiously around for the department head. Hoping she wasn’t in trouble for reporting lastly here. It just happened that way she supposed. So much going on and she still had no clue of her assigned quarters. Distracted by several odd looking specimens on a nearby table she, moved closer to study them….

“Careful,” A somewhat deep voice erupted from an alternate side of the room, “You never know what is going on with those specimens.” Upon approach, Mantis would find a rather tall Orion woman, whose deep, black hair fell in streaks of large curls from a ponytail. Her facial features were sharp, eyes calculating, as she seemed a bit more masculine than a good majority of her species for her gender. However, that was information that Mantis would be better of not asking about. “You’re new here, I assume—.” She grinned, teasingly: “Proof by your unnecessary fascination with simple specimen.”

Doctor Mantis jumped nearly out of her fair freckled skin at the sound of the booming voice from across the room. She moved away from the specimens as a tall green woman? approached. As she shamefully stared she came to the conclusion that she was of the Orion species. She had heard about them but never yet met one in real life, until now. Lenore pointed to herself and said, “Me, new here, how ever could you tell?” her own smile mimicking that of the Orion. Yes, yes ofcorse I am new. Would you be my Department Head by chance? She asked cheerily as she introduced herself. I’m Ensign Lenore Mantis. The new Doctor you may or may not have been expecting.

Greve rose an eyebrow at the astonishment that floated through the young Ensign’s eyes. Stealing a glance over to the specimen, she fixed one of the dishes that had been altered from its original position. Raising her head, she nodded. “Yes. I am Doctor Greve Shaidi, the Chief Medical Officer,” She offered a hand for the Ensign to shake, “A pleasure to meet you,” She hummed, quietly glancing about the bay, for a sign of anything out of place. “Follow me, would you? I doubt you want to have a meeting in the openness of this bay.”

The new Doctor shook the offered hand a bit over enthusiastically and obediantly followed her superior officer to where ever they led her. She assumed an office is where they would end up.
