“No thank you Captain.” He said respectfully. “In fact the insensitivity just displayed by Cmd. Reilly is at the crux of my recent ordeal. I want to make a complaint of gross dereliction and negligence resulting to harm of a crew member directly under his command. Before the good Cmd rebuts I want to make it clear to you Sir that the Away Mission was very haphazardly managed. Even cavalier to the point of dangerous. Our covers were poorly managed by the XO and wholly unbelievable to the point we were quickly detected as frauds. There was little security mindset and when I stepped out to cover our backs, as I was getting suspicious of the actions of the tent merchant, my suspicions became very clear. I was immediately attacked and kidnapped. In fact if they could have entered and contained us all in that small area the result could have been much worse for the rest of the team.”

Petrov had a look of sincere earnest on his face.

Petrov CE

Rwmy listened carefully to Petrov’s complaint. “Hold on just a moment, Lt. We only had limited intel–“

Reilly smiled slightly and looked at Boudreaux. “Well, since that is a formal complaint Captain, -” and he winked at him with the eye away from Petrov, “- I would like to submit my Mission Report you already have and the surveillance footage from the shop’s surveillance system that you, the Security Chief, and myself have already reviewed as evidence. That will show that Mr. Petrov, against orders to stay together, walked out of the shop placing himself by his own actions in harm’s way; and was subsequently incapacitated by persons unknown using devices unknown origin and capabilities.” and he looked at Petrov. “Or… you know… we can just drop the posturing and try to figure out what happened. So who took you, Lieutenant? Any ideas?”

OOC: I’m a little in disbelief that the highly uncooperative shop keeper gave us surveillance footage or even had any. However......
IC:

“I already explained the poor management of the Away Team and my reasoning for stepping out, all of which are valid.” Mikel said. “I won’t be intimidated into not speaking the truth. However for the good of the ship I will answer that question. The answer is I have no idea the who. As to the why it was to gain the devices we found or get information on them. Much of which it seemed they already had. Even under torture I did not reveal any pertinent mission details.”

OOC: That was from the GM. I didn’t think Reilly was that good at charm, either… but there we are!

Reilly’s jaw clenched and he looked at Petrov. He wasn’t mad at the man, in fact it was the opposite. He felt for him slightly. “Petrov… torture? What did they do, Lieutenant? That could tell us who your assailants were. Most… ‘interrogators’… have a style.”

OOC: Well, she did. Hiding the surveillance footage would make her seem guilty, so she cooperated fully with the authorities. Being uncooperative about her merchandising is an entirely different issue. So to distance herself from something that she would be highly being a suspect of, she was being fully cooperative. After all, kidnapping is a serious crime.

OOC: True. I just got the vibe she was an off the books kind of operator where the less proof of purchase the better.
IC:

“Some sort of memory extraction device. The more you resisted the more pain was involved. Involved electrodes in a skull cap like device. If I was guessing it was in line with something like Romulan technology. They also had very good holotech to disguise my actual location though it was clear I was on a ship.” Mikel answered.

“I wan’ you to check in wit’ medical to make sure dere are no lastine physical effects from what you went trough. I tink a sess=SHON or two wit’ Lt. Argona is also in order to be on de safe side.”

It was at that precise moment, a medical report from the Vulcan Starfleet base arrived in the Captain’s inbox. It was quite detailed, and it was Cc’d to the Chief Medical Officer of the Wolverine.

He did not tell them he told them next to nothing because he had paid little attention to the mission to begin with. However this did help him during the torture as he truly did have little information to share.

“Gentleman, we went into dis situa-SHON wit’ limited intel on what we were dealine wit’. While you were missine, Lt, we ‘ave been appraised of what de circumstances really are. Lt. Petrov, I truly appreciate dat you did no’ give away any of our secrets. Considering de circumstances, it was probably a good tine dat you were kept in de dark, but I tink it is time to let de crew know what is actually goine on.”
