Remy noticed for someone that had been kidnapped, Petrov was looking rather fresh and clean, but perhaps a bit thinner.=^=Petrov, what ‘appened? Are you alright? ‘Ow did you end up on Vulcan?=^=
Boudreaux (CO)
=^=No thanks to that XO of yours. I was kidnapped in daylight standing outside the darn tent they were trying unsuccessfully to bargain in. My captors, who unsuccessfully tried to interrogate me dropped me off there. It seems your artifact search raised some interest and I paid the price for it. SIR.=^=
Petrov was indignant but in reality he was not angry with the Captain. The man was his usual self. He was wanting the blood of the XO.
Petrov CE
Reilly began the task of tracing the comms to find Petrov’s exact location. He smiled at the man’s blaming of him… had he not wandered off, this would be an in-person complaint.
Reilly, XO
The computer confirmed the signal location was through the Starfleet/Federation communication network, and the point of origin was Vulcan, at the primary Starfleet compound on Vulcan.
GM
Reilly looked twice to be sure, but then sent the information to Remy.
Reilly, XO
Fin was getting a little impatient. She was the one who’d called the meeting, waking everyone up in the middle of the night. Was she happy that Petrov had been found and was alright—sure, but she had her own business to deal with. She chewed at her bottom lip—the Admiral wouldn’t be pleased if the Wolverine took too long to get after those artifacts she still had to tell the others about.
—Fin, CIO
Reilly looked up the course they would need to get Petrov. It would take them a full standard day at Warp 9 to get to Vulcan and back. He sent that information to Remy as well.
Reilly, XO
OOC: Petrov has no idea on any info not spoken so for him its just silence.
IC:
Mikel was wondering what the wait was. However he was probably happy to be left on Vulcan if the Vulcan’s left him alone. At least none of the drama would come from the Vulcans like he would get from the crew.Petrov CE
“So… Petrov is on Vulcan?” asked Mado.
GM
“Apparently so, Lt.,” Remy replied to the security liaison. Biting back the sarcasm from his tone, he added, “We’ve missed you, Mr. Petrov and look forward to having you back with us. Jason, dispatch a shuttle to Vulcan to retrieve our erstwhile engineer.”
=^=Am I needed in this conversation anymore? If your in a hurry don’t worry about me. I am sure the Vulcans wont mind me staying=^=
Petrov would do almost anything not to join that crew again. In fact he could mastermind his reassignment from the ship if the Vulcan’s left him alone long enough.
Petrov CE
Reilly spoke up and said =/\= Shuttle’s leaving now, Lieutenant. We’ll wait for your arrival back before we head out from Risa. See you in a few hours. =/\= and cut the comms and he looked at Remy and the rest. “We will have to debrief him, sir. And…” and he cast a glance at Finn Mado, “… we will have to see if he has been compromised in any way.”
Reilly, XO
Finally! Fin looked around at the others and began. “Now that Petrov is sorted out, I called you all here to tell you that I was contacted by Claudia Donavan from the Warehouse. She said a cargo ship carrying artifacts, has gone missing. It was last seen while on its way to Memory Alpha, somewhere near Tellar Prime. I asked about the particular objects It was carrying and got a list from her. One ancient Vulcan vase that initial analysis indicated needing to be kept in the dark vault, another ancient Bajoran vase, also needing to be kept in the dark vault after using the Bronzer, a third ancient Tkon vase, James T. Kirk’s glasses, a wristband from Mercy Hospital from 1986 that has healing powers, a pen belonging to J.R.R. Tolkien, a 1947 hairpin owned by a Nurse Garland, a knife that is said to have killed Gabriel Bell in 2024, a Tal Shiar agent pin, circa 2253, a scroll owned by Enabran Tain, a Starfleet Insignia owned by a Starfleet Security officer, circa 2149, a Kurlan naiskos – not owned by Captain Picard, and 3 of a set of twelve hexagonal stone shaped artifacts that have symbols of the Chinese zodiac on them.
“Any items intended for the dark vault are extremely dangerous and need to be placed immediately in a powered Warehouse 18 Class 10 containment device, which is already part of the supplies Admiral Frederic sent our ship on to get. Also, Captain Kirk’s glasses may have certain temporal effects, so we’ll need to handle them with care. The Nurse Garland 1947 hairpin may have temporal effects, as it is related to the time when the Ferengi Quark time travelled and was the cause of the Roswell incident. The knife that killed Gabriel Bell seems to cause wild emotions in others when held, so we’ll need to be careful with it too. The twelve hexagonal stones are not to be kept together for long periods of time… they tend to disappear to the known corners of the galaxy when they do… which is why they have to be found… again. As for the Kurlan naiskos, and the related intergalactic spy agency items – the effects seem to only activate under special conditions and vary from person to person. More items to be careful when handling… those being the Tal Shiar agent pin, the scroll owned by Enabran Tain and well… potentially the Starfleet Insignia owned by a Starfleet Security officer… probably Section 31 related. Comments or question?”
—Fin, CIO
Fin blurted everything out so quickly that Mado couldn’t find the ability to interrupt her.
Reilly looked at her and said “Yeah. What’s a dark vault? And what’s a bronzer? And if we need a Class 10 containment device… what are the other classifications? Really, you guys need to give us a manual or something. We’re here to help, but still working blind.” and he gave her the smile he knew made her jaw clench.
Reilly, XO
“Lieutenant Fihnrilkk’Hob”ledn-ardol,” said Mado with a sigh, “The Captain and Commander were only aware of a storage facility that housed the said artifacts… not anything else than that. But I guess the cat is out the bag now.”
A buzzing came from somewhere. Mado brought out a small bag, which when he put on the desk, increased to a full size carpet bag. He pulled out an old looking device, and opened it. “This is our specialized communication device, which will seal this room, it may look old but we’ve made upgrades to it. It’s called a Farnsworth.”
Pressing some old fashion dials, knobs and buttons, the flat screen device activated. He could see Admiral Frederic, Claudia Donovan and two unknown individuals. He attached another object to the device, and the four popped out as holograms.
“She gave up the information, didn’t she, Andreas?” asked the Admiral.
Andreas only nodded. “Very well. I authorize the release of the information,” said Admiral Frederic, and she disappeared. Both from the display screen, and from the room – there were only three people on the screen, and three holograms.
“Sorry Andreas, forgot to tell her that we were keeping the Warehouse a secret…,” said the young woman.
“It’s okay Claudia, it was bound to happen anyway,” replied Mado.
“Crap, I think I sense something wrong. Agents Zis Narr and Ratat, take over from here,” said Claudia, also disappearing from the screen of the device. Zis Narr appeared to be Bolian, while Ratat appeared to be Romulan.
“Warehouse 18 is a secret society organization that dates from all the way from ancient Earth times, that was built by Alexander the Great to store various artifacts that he collected from his war campaigns. It’s purpose has evolved over the centuries, with the last known great Warehouse on Earth… Warehouse 13… and its mission was to continuously house these artifacts. The warehouse is an ever self-expanding warehouse facility. We have one section of the area that is known as the dark vault simply because the objects are too dangerous to deal with. They have effects that curse people, kill people or have the potential to cause large scale destruction. Simply put, they are too dangerous to be left alone, and being kept under a special containment which is carefully sealed and monitored. With mankind’s exploration of the stars, so did the finding unusual artifacts of non-Earth origin as well, and the Warehouse has continued to collect artifacts since. It’s current location is something I can’t disclose because … well, simply put, I don’t know where it is. I am aware of my particular authorized way of going to the Warehouse, but its exact coordinates in space are… unknown. Ms. Donovan is the gatekeeper and she is the one that initializes whatever artifact transporter that allows people to enter the warehouse. All artifacts are delivered by way of a special courier, which then uses some clandestine way of travel to reach the Warehouse, which that said cargo ship was one of those couriers. As you can see, since Warehouse 13, our field agents have expanded and are simply no longer restricted to human species and human origin artifacts.”
GM
There! Finally, some information shared with the command crew. Her personal feelings were the Admiral was jeopardizing the welfare of the entire crew by not sharing enough knowledge about what they were dealing with.
She looked at Reilly and Boudreaux. “See the kind of trouble we’re in?”
—Fin, CIO
“Tank you for dis informa-SHON, Lt. At least now we know what kind of items we are looking fo’. Dis would ‘ave been mos’ ‘elpful ‘ad we been aware of dis when dis all began. I understand, de need for secrecy, when items such as dese are involved, bu’ I doubt 31 ‘as de amount of secrecy involved ‘ere.”
OOC: I’m assuming I am not in this meeting anymore? If so I will rp my time on Vulcan.
Sidney
OOC: Yes, I guess make your way back to the ship?
GM
Reilly looked around and then looked directly at Mado. “YOu have no idea how much time this would have saved if we had this little talk at the beginning of all of this.” and he gave the man a small smile and a wink.
Mado nearly gave an eyeroll at Reilly.
“I agree with Cmdr Reilly, Mr. Mado. ‘Ad we been aware of dis, we may not ‘ave lost Lt. Petrov, bu’ luckily ‘e was mos’ likely no’ able to give up much informa-SHON.”
“Ok, tell us everything you now about your missing courier.”
Reilly, XO
“The report is more like that the cargo ship was boarded, and robbed to make it look like an attack by pirates,” replied Mado, “All the relevant ship logs have been sent to our ship’s computers.”
“Is it possible dat de missine courier, De attempt on my life, and Petrov’s abduc-SHON are all tied togedder? If so, we need to be extra vigilant. Now mo’ dan ever.”
Boudreaux (CO)
Fin kneaded her bottom lip with her teeth. “That would make sense, wouldn’t it? Those are all major situations that would and have kept us focused in one direction, but not necessarily the direction we should have been looking in.” Someone was trying to keep them busy and out of their way. Was it all so ‘they’ could snatch the courier ship?
—Fin, CIO
“We do have many eyes, but there would need to be a significant distraction for that kind of breach of security… though… someone could have taken advantage of Petrov’s disappearance and known that Commander Reilly would use his intelligence connections in attempt to actually breach secure information,” replied Mado.
GM
OOC: Bump
GM
Fin wanted to read the reports. She made that her top priority once the meeting was ended.
—Fin, CIO
A decision had to be made. Remy rapped his knuckles on the table and spoke. “Let’s make our way to de last known posi-SHON of de courier ship. We’ll start de investiga-SHON dere. In de meantime, I wan’ a list of every item on day ship, an’ every available crew member researchine de items to figure out what may make dem so special. Mos’ of de items will ‘ave some sort of ‘istorical significance.”
His gaze shifted from each person at the table. “If we can figure out what each is capable of doine, we may be able to cross-reference in de computer files of possible unexplained events dat may be de result of de artifact manifestine its’ powers..”
One more ques-SHON: Is it possible dat someone on de courier could ‘ave been compromised OR under de effect of an artifact dat allowed de ship to be taken?”
Boudreaux (CO)
“Compromised… no. All couriers are personnel that are selected and go through extensive training on handling artifacts. The latter… that would be a 40% chance… The courier ship has usually 5 diverse personnel, each distinct from each other in some way. Artifacts are known to not affect certain species depending on the circumstances. For example, a psychological mind controlling or mind altering artifact has a difficult time affecting Ferengi, Betazoids, Trill and some telepathic races.”
GM
Remy shook his head. “Dat limits us somewhat. We ‘ave no Ferengi on de ship, tank God, but Dr. Mantis is ‘alf Betazoid, and Ensign Kudas is Trill. Anyone else fit dat criteria dat I am no’ aware of?”
Boudreaux (CO)
