A buzzing noise came from the Warehouse issued garment bag.

The noise repeated itself on a loop, pausing for the same amount of period each time before repeating.

GM

The sound incorporated itself into her dream, so it took a few repeats to actually wake her up. “What, by all that is holy is that noise?” Sitting up in bed, Fin ran a hand back through her hair and sighed unhappily. There was nothing for it except to get up and hunt down the sound. Sliding her feet over the edge of the bed, she scooted to the edge and stood. The delicate gossamer of her short nightgown almost hid the lines of a well toned body…but not quite. The material was diaphanous at best and sheer at worst. Slowly, Fin prowled through her quarters, looking for the offending alert.

—Fin

Memories stirred from her short period of being a Warehouse agent. It felt like a lifetime ago… but she could remember that was the specialized Farnsworth communicator issued to Warehouse agents, and it would only be located in the standard carpet bag that Admiral Frederic handed her, and it would be keyed to her DNA. It was a visual communicator, and upgraded from its ancient counterparts to work anywhere in the galaxy using 24th century technology and artifact wizardry. The sound could only mean that someone at the Warehouse was calling, and it was urgent. Fortunately, one of the improvements was a decency filter – to allow agents to communicate as if they were in their regular work clothes, if they were awoken, but one would have to switch the old fashion dial to activate it… if Fin could remember how.

Little by little, information crept to the front of her mind about her time with the Warehouse, unbidden. That could only mean the sound she was hunting had something to do with it. In an instant, a picture of the Farnsworth communicator plastered itself in her consciousness and she knew it was the device she was looking for.

When Fin finally found the carpet bag, and pulled out the rectangular shaped device with the lid, the circular screen showed a young human woman with colorful hair. Fin would remember this woman as Claudia Donovan – the person who basically was in charge of keeping track of the many artifacts at the Warehouse and searching for specific artifacts within the galaxy for retrieval.

“Donovan?”

“Finally! Ah, sorry, sorry… seems I woke you up. Listen… a cargo ship carrying a bunch of artifacts that were destined to arrive at the Warehouse has gone missing.”

GM

Fin carried the communicator to the replicator and ordered coffee. “Okay, what was the last documented location of the ship, what kinds of artifacts and how many are we talking about, and does the Admiral know?”

She took the cup and communicator to her bedroom, propped up one and set down the other so she could get dressed while the conversation took place. Off went the nightie and on went the black jumpsuit. She was slipping on her last boot when other questions arose. “Do you have reason to believe the ship or its crew are in trouble?”

—Fin, CIO

“Well, you know the Admiral… she’s everywhere and nowhere – she already knows. Even though I have figured out how to move around like the Admiral does, she still manages to catch me off guard and always right behind me. I guess it’s because she’s had more practice at it that I have,” said Claudia with a shrug, “Anyway, the cargo ship was last en route to Memory Alpha. Somewhere near Tellar Prime. It was carrying one ancient Vulcan vase that initially analysis indicated it needed to be kept in the dark vault, another ancient Bajoran vase, also needed to be kept in the dark vault after using the Bronzer, a third ancient Tkon vase, James T. Kirk’s glasses, a wristband from Mercy Hospital from 1986 that has healing powers, a pen belonging to J.R.R. Tolkien, a 1947 hairpin owned by a Nurse Garland, a knife that said to have killed Gabriel Bell in 2024, a Tal Shiar agent pin, circa 2253, a scroll owned by Enabran Tain, a Starfleet Insignia owned by a Starfleet Security officer, circa 2149, a Kurlan naiskos – not owned by Captain Picard, and 3 of a set twelve hexagonal stone shaped artifacts that have symbols of the Chinese zodiac on them.”

GM

While running a brush through her hair, Fin picked up the communicator again. “I’ll inform command and Lt Mado immediately. Is there anything else I need to know about the artifacts in order to keep us safe?”

“Let’s see… Since it’s been awhile you’ve been field active, per the usual, any items intended for the dark vault are extremely dangerous and need to be placed immediately in a powered Warehouse 18 Class 10 containment device, which is already part of the supplies Admiral Frederic sent your ship on to get. Captain Kirk’s glasses may have certain temporal effects, so you’ll need to handle that with care. The Nurse Garland 1947 hairpin may have temporal effects, as it is related to the time when the Ferengi Quark time travelled and was the cause of the Roswell incident. The knife that killed Gabriel Bell seems to cause wild emotions in others when held, so be careful with it. The twelve hexagonal stones are not to be kept together for long periods of time… they tend to disappear to the known corners of the galaxy when they do… which is why they have to be found… again. As for the Kurlan naiskos, and the related intergalactic spy agency items – the effects seemed to only activate under special conditions and vary from person to person. I’d be careful handling those… those being the Tal Shiar agent pin, the scroll owned by Enabran Tain and well… potentially the Starfleet Insignia owned by a Starfleet Security officer… my money says probably Section 31 related. Any questions?”

One hand hovered over the communicator pin on her uniform. As soon as she and Claudia were done, she’d call a meeting with Beaudreux, Riley and Mado.

—Fin

GM

Fin shook her head as she exited her quarters. “Nothing at the moment. After I meet with the Captain, I may give you a call back.” She closed the communication and tucked the device into a slim pocket on her thigh. =/\=Computer, alert the Captain, First Officer and Lt Mado that their presence is required in the conference room. Tell them its urgent.=/\=

She continued through the ship until she entered the meeting room where she helped herself to another coffee and waited for the others to arrive.

—Fin, CIO

Mado arrived, and ordered a cup of tea. He let out a small yawn, to indicate how early in the morning it was. He sat down, looked at Fin and studied her. He wondered what was urgent.

GM

Remy stepped into the room and made his way to his normal seat at the head of the table. “I am ‘oping you ‘ave sometine good to share wit’ me, Fin?”

Boudreaux (CO)

=^=Priority 2 Message from Vulcan. Attn Captain Boudreaux, CO of the USS Wolverine. Incoming request of communique from Lt. Mikel Petrov=^=

Remy raised a Vulcan-like eyebrow and stated, “Petrov. . . .on Vulcan?!?! Boudreaux here. Go ‘head.”

The screen did show Lt. Petrov when the Captain answered.

Just as Fin opened her mouth to begin the briefing, the computer announced the incoming message from their missing engineer. She paused, brows raised with surprise and looked toward Remy. What she had to share wouldn’t be classified as ‘emergency’ information, although it was extremely important. Petrov’s well being was on the emergency level so she closed her mouth and waited for the Captain to take the call.

—Fin, CIO

The door slid open and Reilly came in. He gave a nod to Fin and Mado and said “Heya, kids.” He then looked at the Captain. “Skipper.” he said to Remy and then saw the incoming comm icon so he took a seat and leaned back to listen to what was going on.

Reilly, XO

OOC: I’m waiting for the GM and the CO to handle the incoming call before Fin gives the briefing.

D…

OOC: and I will need that call answered before I can proceed so…we are all waiting.

Sidney

OOC: Ball’s in the Captain’s court.

GM

OOC: Sorry for holding things up, guys!!!

Remy noticed for someone that had been kidnapped, Petrov was looking rather fresh and clean, but perhaps a bit thinner.

=^=Petrov, what ‘appened? Are you alright? ‘Ow did you end up on Vulcan?=^=

Boudreaux (CO)

=^=No thanks to that XO of yours. I was kidnapped in daylight standing outside the darn tent they were trying unsuccessfully to bargain in. My captors, who unsuccessfully tried to interrogate me dropped me off there. It seems your artifact search raised some interest and I paid the price for it. SIR.=^=

Petrov was indignant but in reality he was not angry with the Captain. The man was his usual self. He was wanting the blood of the XO.
