Reilly snorted softly. “Lieutenant, one of the reasons Risa is such a popular place is for the exact opposite reason you just stated. Risian security, government and private, is some of the best in the Federation. It has to be, so the more… illustrious… guests that come actually relax and not worry about issues such as that. Which makes Mr. Petrov’s abduction all the more problematic, and your little trinkets that much more dangerous.” and he turned to Remy. “Sir, once the Risian authorities get word of an abduction, they will do everything they can to make sure it stays quiet. We should be mindful of that going forward. Not that I think they would hide anything… but protecting their reputation will be their motivating factor for certain.”
Reilly, XO
“I would rather be wrong,” Bryson said shaking his head. “If they’ll cover something like this up, there’s no telling what they’d do if we snoop even further.” Commander Erin couldn’t help but to think how many shady things actually go down on the planet, or if this abduction is a one time deal.

OperationsReilly looked at the Operations Chief and smiled. “Agreed. You keep up with thoughts like that and you may be recruited by Intel if you aren’t too careful.”
Reilly, XO
“I’m sure my ex-wife would just love that.” Bryson said, giving a smirk to the CO.
Remy had been listening quietly to the input from his officers. He ran a hand through his hair and stood up. “Cmdr. Reilly is correct, Petrov is our main concern, but, we still need containmen’ fo’ any more artifacts we come across. Chances are, when we fin’ Petrov, dere will be anodder artifact around. Mr. Mado, can de containment vessls be deliverd to de Wolverine trough Admiral Frederic’s department, or do we need to pick dem up ourselves?”
“Out of all of Starfleet, the USS Wolverine is the only ship being evaluated for Admiral Frederic’s department division status. There are no other vessels within Admiral Frederic’s purview. There are many civilian ships in use to ferry agents on their individual missions… but since the Wolverine is still under evaluation, I’m afraid, Captain, we’re alone on this one,” said Mado, “We can inquire support from the division HQ if we really need it…”
Mado let his voice trail off. He seemed to imply that to gain trust with Admiral Frederic, the Wolverine had to prove themselves.
Since Mado had more information about this particular situation than Fin, she didn’t feel the need to try and one up him with the officers in the room. There was a life at stake, one that not many present were fond of, but a life all the same. So, she remained silent, but was hoping she’d have the chance to meet this Petrov person in the future.

“Cmdr. Erin is correct, as well. Abduc-SHON of a Starfleet officer is too big for no one to know anytine.”
“Commander,” he said to Reilly, get a team an’ go back to de planet an’ put some pressure on de Risan authorities. Tell dem dat wit’out dere coopera-SHON, you may ‘ave to go public wit’ de abduc-SHON of a visitine Starfleet officer, or some such story. i’m sure dey will no’ wan’ de bad publicity, no?”

Alita had nothing to say outwardly because everything that had just been said made her groan inwardly and that would be very unprofessional to share.

OOC: Fixing split.
A sudden thought occurred to Reilly and he looked at Remy. “Hey Skipper, before we send people down to pick a fight with the Risians… can I have an hour? I may have a way to help us not get into a diplomatic tussle.” and he looked at Remy for approval before standing up and walking out.
Reilly, XO
Remy gave his XO a quizzical look. Realizing no other information was forthcoming, he simply nodded and said, “Keep me appraised, Commander.”
As stated before, Bryson was hoping his opinion on the recent events was speculation and not fact. However, they did have to have all scenarios on the table if they were to find the Chief Engineer.

OpsAfter Reilly left the room, the CO looked at Bryson and could almost read his thoughts. The two had been good friends for a number of years now, and he was one of only a handful of people on his ship that he trusted completely. “Sometine else on you’ mind, Cmdr. Erin?”
Boudreaux (CO)
“I’m just a bit curious on who would want to capture a Starfleet Engineer…” Bryson replied. “The Chief isn’t senior enough to have classified information, and he wouldn’t know anything about these trinkets we’re after.”

OpsIt didn’t surprise Kadence in the least to hear Reilly had something up his sleeve. As he left the room she let out a sigh of relief. He had been so absorbed in the latest trouble to notice the energy mark on her arm where she had been hit. There was something to be said about her ability to look unhurt while crossing her arms to hide the mark and the tear in her uniform sleeve.
Glancing at the CO and OPs officer, it dawned on her she needed to retreat as well. She glanced at the CIO and smiled. “Care to join me for a drink before it all goes downhill once more?” She nodded towards the door and glanced at poor Acadia. The engineer looked seriously overwhelmed and lost. Taking on energy turrets and warp cores on the verge of rupturing was one thing. Listening to the Command Staff plan a rescue of a kidnapped crew member was something completely different. It was more than obvious the young woman was a bit out of her element. “Acadia, if the Captain doesn’t have a need of you, my suggestion would be to go back to engineering. With Petrov gone, I’m sure they will need guidance in some form or fashion. Just try and keep things running. You have other Lieutenants on the roster. Use their expertise.” She smiled in reassurance. “And come see me if anyone starts any trouble. All right?”
The woman was stunning. Fin wondered what it would be like to be that beautiful every day of your life. “Oh, I’m always up for a drink, Counselor.”
She quickly glanced at the Captain and, seeing no motion to remain seated, headed for the door with one more glance at Fin to see if she would join her. “Mado, you’re welcome as well. Maybe we can come up with a way to bolster your bag or create something similar to store our charming artifacts.” The sarcasm at the word charming was more than evident and a small smile played across her lips.
Kadence
CNSThe CIO was out of her chair and heading for the door to catch up with Kadence. “Yes, Mado, why don’t you join us?” She didn’t know if or what he would reveal in front of the counselor, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have him there with his knowledge of the devices.
—Fin, CIO
“Hmm… what? Oh, yes,” said Lt. Mado, apparently waking up from being lost in deep thought.
Acadia had remained as inconspicuous in the back of the room as she could make herself. She was grateful no one had called on her. The news of Petrov being kidnapped was a hard blow to her gut.
When Kadence had dismissed her, she all but bolted from the room with a murmured thanks. This wasn’t her cup of tea, so to speak, and she wanted to get back to the familiarity of the engineering bay. She’d have to contact the aCE to let him know what was going on in case he wasn’t aware. And she’d make sure she did her best to assist him with keeping order in the department till the Chief reappeared. Things were going to be a bit hectic for a bit longer. Her anxiety was more than evident in her gait as she headed straight for engineering.
Acadia
EngineerAlita noticed Cadence’s tear in her uniform and wondered what that was all about. She also made a mental note to check in with Vinoda as soon as this meeting was over.
