A buzzing noise came from the Warehouse issued garment bag.

The noise repeated itself on a loop, pausing for the same amount of period each time before repeating.

The sound incorporated itself into her dream, so it took a few repeats to actually wake her up. “What, by all that is holy is that noise?” Sitting up in bed, Fin ran a hand back through her hair and sighed unhappily. There was nothing for it except to get up and hunt down the sound. Sliding her feet over the edge of the bed, she scooted to the edge and stood. The delicate gossamer of her short nightgown almost hid the lines of a well toned body…but not quite. The material was diaphanous at best and sheer at worst. Slowly, Fin prowled through her quarters, looking for the offending alert.

Memories stirred from her short period of being a Warehouse agent. It felt like a lifetime ago… but she could remember that was the specialized Farnsworth communicator issued to Warehouse agents, and it would only be located in the standard carpet bag that Admiral Frederic handed her, and it would be keyed to her DNA. It was a visual communicator, and upgraded from its ancient counterparts to work anywhere in the galaxy using 24th century technology and artifact wizardry. The sound could only mean that someone at the Warehouse was calling, and it was urgent. Fortunately, one of the improvements was a decency filter – to allow agents to communicate as if they were in their regular work clothes, if they were awoken, but one would have to switch the old fashion dial to activate it… if Fin could remember how.

When Fin finally found the carpet bag, and pulled out the rectangular shaped device with the lid, the circular screen showed a young human woman with colorful hair. Fin would remember this woman as Claudia Donovan – the person who basically was in charge of keeping track of the many artifacts at the Warehouse and searching for specific artifacts within the galaxy for retrieval.

“Finally! Ah, sorry, sorry… seems I woke you up. Listen… a cargo ship carrying a bunch of artifacts that were destined to arrive at the Warehouse has gone missing.”
