Fin hit the timer on her chrono and watched as the first few seconds passed. “They’ve got five minutes. After that, we start looking for a way to return to the ship. There’s no sense in all of us dying down here.” Self preservation was a natural instinct of Fin’s people. Even though they could essentially, leave their body and inhabit another one, it wasn’t something they took lightly.

Mado nodded in agreement. “Though I hate to use our artifact equipment… we may have to, if we are left with no choice. The side effect consequences could leave one of us incapacitated for awhile,” replied Mado.

=^=Wolverine to Captain Bourdreaux, we’ve managed to stop the flooding in Sickbay. I know Petrov is missing, but our first plan of action is to get your team out of there as soon as possible, sir.=^= Commander Erin called out. =^= I might be able to break into the system that houses the control for the dampening field, and if not.... I might be able to at least reset it long enough to get a lock on you all for a beam out. =^=

Bryson wasn’t sure if the field was also cutting out comms in their area, but he had a few tricks up his sleeve if that was the case.

OOC: I’m going to say that the only open comm-line is one way to the ship, with the transporter chief standing by for orders.

Kadence cursed. “NO!!! Damn it!!” She glanced around, scanning the room once more. “Someone else is looking for them. Captain, we need to get out of here. We’ll figure this out on the ship.” She grabbed his arm and tugged him towards the door. “Let’s get out of here.” She wasn’t crazy about leaving empty handed and shook her head glancing around the room once more.

Acadia also took off running as the others departed, trying to draw some fire to herself and divert some of the attacks to the Captain and Kadence. An almost maniacal laugh giggled up her throat as she wondered just ‘what’ possessed her to do that as the first volley headed her way.

Mado laid some cover fire. He spotted what seemed to be some kind of emitter and fired at that.

“Alert! Defensive systems have been compromised. All employees must evacuate immediately. Counter-threat insurgency program will engage,” chirped the computer over the area’s PA system.

“That doesn’t sound good,” said Mado, “We better exit the dampening field immediately and get out of here.”

GM

Fin was already getting up. “I’m right behind you, Lt. Keep an eye out for what they’re going to throw at us next.” Phaser in one hand and a grenade in the other, she followed the others to get clear of the dampening field.

Remy heard the announcement for the evacuation. “Now’s our chance,” he yelled to Kadence! “Dey won’t shoot while dere own people are runnine out like rats from a sinkine ship.”

With the Counselor close by, he made a dash for the rest of the team.

“MADO,” he yelled, “let me know when we are clear of de dampenine field!!”

Boudreaux (CO)

“Clear!” said Mado, and since the commline was still open to the transporter chief, they found themselves back aboard the Wolverine.

“Welcome back sirs, madams,” said the transporter chief.

GM

Remy looked at team and said to Kadence, “Get to sickbay and get dat arm checked out ‘fore Mr. Reilly blames me for gettine you injured.”

Stepping off the transporter pad, he moved to the NE manning the console. “NE Brundle, what is de status of de oder away team? ‘Ave dey returned yet?”

Boudreaux (CO)

“Yes sir. They have.”

Kadence was midstep as the transporter caught them and brought them back to the ship. Grateful she was on a back pad, and could grab the wall to keep from stumbling, she nodded as the Captain ordered her to medical. “Yes, Sir.” She stepped off the pad and moved to the corridor to get taken care of. She had no doubt Reilly would be upset. She just hoped it was at her and not the Captain.

The computer chirped at Captain Boudreaux’s commbadge.

When he pressed it, the computer spoke. “You have… 2 unheard voice messages due to requested radio silence. First new message from Commander Jason Reilly: ‘Skipper, you better get up here. Looks like Petrov went and got himself nabbed by a ghost.’ Second new message from Commander Bryson Erin: ‘Wolverine to Captain Bourdreaux, we’ve managed to stop the flooding in Sickbay. I know Petrov is missing, but our first plan of action is to get your team out of there as soon as possible, sir. I might be able to break into the system that houses the control for the dampening field, and if not.... I might be able to at least reset it long enough to get a lock on you all for a beam out.’ End of messages.”
