Ayla was a quiet a moment as she figured out how to explain what she and K’Mar had done. “Well, we’ve already done it; it’s just a matter of seeing if it works.” She looked up at Alita. “K’Mar and I did a mind meld and he placed what we can best describe as a block on those memories. In essence, their impact should be lessened or done away with entirely. And the block can be removed when I’m at a point to handle the trauma of them better. Because in the end I think that’s the issue- I haven’t had time. I woke up from this coma and had to deal with the onslaught immediately. But now at least, I’m not having the nightmares and flashback. So, small steps,” she said softly with a tiny smile.

Alita wasn’t surprised that it had taken such an intimate act to calm Ayla’s mind. She wasn’t surprised either that K’Mar had been the one to help. She was surprised at the memories it brought up in her. memories of that crazy day at Black Rock where K’Mar had tried to teach Alita to meditate. It had worked somewhat and for that she was grateful.

“I’m a little envious of people who can do that, to be able to help someone in that way, it’s such a gift. I hope that it’s everything you need it to be.” Alita said truthfully.
