Jason sat in his quarters staring out the window. He knew the time was approaching for the Captain to arrive, and two bottles and two glasses sat 9n the low table.Even being on the ship a relatively short time,he had apparently made the space his own. It was laid out in standard fashion. The door opened into the living area. To the left was a small replicator and recycler area, with a counter and a couple of cabinets. To the right was a seating area, couch below the windows, and a low table. Three comfortable chairs sat on the other three sides. Where a table would normally be directly to the right of the door sat… a piano. Black lacquer finish, with red and black keys. Sheet music sat on the stand, and some others sat stacked on the lid. A door past there led to a small refresher, and on the far left of the room was a widescreen, in front of which sat an overstuffed loveseat.
Small items and holes filled the space tastefully. The items included a few rings in cases, a broken ba’tleth, a large tankard with a dent in the side, a smoking pipe, and various other oddities. Set on a shelf by itself was a set of actual pens, the kind with ink. Hanging on the far right wall was a tattered Cardassian flag under glass with a picture mounted inside with the flag. It showed Reilly and group of Star Fleet Marines. The Marines were equipped in assault gear. Reilly wore khaki pants, a blue t-shirt with a faded picture on the front, and running shoes. Between them were the figures of several severely emaciated Bajorans.
Reilly thought long and hard about Fin, and his jaw clenched.

Remy arrived at Jason’s quarters and rang the chime.
After admittance, he stepped in carrying a scrumptious, spicy smelly crock pot.
“You said to bring some food. I ‘ave ‘ere some. . . .almos’ fresh Cajun style crawfish. Lt. Claire wanted to prove she could cook Cajun style food. an’ I ‘ave to say she definitely ‘as some Cajun in ‘er. (OCC: No pun intended). Dig in, mon ami.”

Reilly waved the Captain to one of the chairs and said “Have a seat. I’ll grab bowls and glasses.” and he did so and brought them over and sat them on the low table. Taking a seat, he grinned at Remy and said “So I take it the incestuous endeavors are going well, then?” in response to the Captain’s mention of the Lieutenant. And before Remy could reply he said “And don’t get your feathers ruffled, Skipper. Your business is yours, hers is hers, and my lips are sealed. I just track locations of the Command staff. And as her badge went to your place and didn’t come out again, one can assume safely you two are keeping it in the family… as it were.” and he took a bite of the crayfish and nodded appreciatively. “Now that is fine. My compliments to the chef.” and set his fork down and popped open a bottle of real Earth bourbon. He poured two glasses and slid one to Remy.

Remy almost choked. He thought he and Alita had been more discreet. That’s what you get for trying to keep secrets on a ship full of former Intel ops. He emptied his glass and motioned for a refill.
Reilly grinned as he filled the glass, and didn’t try to hide it. Catching Remy off-guard was not something he believed he could do often, so that he had made him smile.
“It’s . . . . .complicated. When she came aboard, dere was a subtle attrac-SHON, but I was wit’ Ayla, so I put it out of my mind. After Ayla left, ‘Lita an’ I began spendine time togedder, de attrac-SHON intensified. Is no’ like we are close rela-SHONS. Dere are FIVE genera-SHONS between us. Hell, we are barely related at all.”
Reilly shook his head and waved off the explanation. “Skipper, I’m not your babysitter or your conscious. Annd I dont judge. What you do in private is what you do. I’ll only involve myself if it becomes an issue outside your quarters. That’s a promise as your friend and your XO.”
“We’ll keep it in our quarters. . . maybe de holodeck, or sickbay, or de bridge. De center seat is mine aft all. De woman is insatiable!!”
He dug into the crawfish, each bite reminding him that he and Alita had not gotten to the food the night before. “Surely, you didno’ jus’ ask me ‘ere to discuss my rela-SHONS wit’ de Lt. Sometine else, Don Juan?”
Boudreaux (CO)
Reilly chuckled at the reference and then said “Yeah, there is. The new Intel Chief. I know her. Worked with her in the past. And I have… concerns. And I wanted you to know about them… privately.” He then stood up and went to a shelf and picked up what appeared to be a small metal pyramid with faces alternating between gray and dark gray. He set it on the table between them and taped the facets in a particular order. A small red light appeared at the top point and then changed to blue after a few seconds.
Reilly, XO
Remy stopped chewing and stared at the pyramid as the lights changed color. “Dat’s no’ going to blow up, mon ami? I’d really ‘ate it if it turns out you are de one tryine to kill me.”
Boudreaux (CO)
Reilly smiled and shook his head. “Nope. Staic noice generator. Scrambles listening devices. And if I was trying to kill you, Skipper, you’d already be dead. I mean, its not like I haven’t had the opportinities.” and he laughed slightly.
“No, this is absolutely about Finn. I’m worried that… well… she’s…” and he sat the fork down and looked at Remy directly and said “She’s an uptight pain in the ass who cares more for how she is viewed by Intel higher-ups than she is about anything or anyone else. And I wouldn’t trust her to put the needs of the crew or of the Wolverine before her or her next promotion.” he said flatly. “And yeah, I am speaking from experience.”
Reilly, XO
“Along wit’ Lt. Mado, she is one of Adm. Frederic’s operatives. As long as we are dealine wit’ de admiral, Fin is goine to be ‘round. I found no men-SHON of you’ name in ‘er files, so why don’t you enlighten me ‘bout you’ experiences wit’ de Lt., no?”
Boudreaux (CO)
Reilly leaned back and said “It was an extended Intel op. We were partnered up for… oh… musta been something like three or four months. First half reconnaissance and cover building, then infiltration and mission execution. And before you ask… yes. We did end up ‘passing the time’ in naked gymnastics more than once. Still… forr me, tmission execution had meant making friends and working my way into the mark’s good graces. Get him talking, incriminating evidence, so on and so forth… which I had done and was ready to make my move. Fin was supposed to wait till I was done… she didn’t. She took him out while I was on my way to meet him. He was gonna give me the full tour of his drug manufacturing operation… instead he was eliminated and it took another year and half to dismantle the organization.” He picked up his drink and slammed it back.
“She said she did it because ‘the timing was right and she didn’t know if she would get another clean opportunity. Which was abaolute bulls#&t because she knew exactly what was happening. Instead, she took him out, played her success up to the brass, and got pulled out for another op while I was left trying to do damage control and keep Intel’s name out of the whispers. F$@&ing nightmare is what she left in her wake… and it wasn’t the only time she pulled crap like that.”
Reilly, XO
Remy sat quietly and let his XO explain the situation. He finished his glass and indicated for Jason to refill it. “Are you saying she takes credit when it is no’ deserved? She ‘as to be good at ‘er job, ‘cuz dere is no way she could ‘ave gotten dis far in ‘er career wit’out ‘er own merits. Someone up the food chain ‘as ‘ad to see a pattern to ‘er success. Or she ‘as stepped on a lot of toes to get ‘ere. Dat’s a good way to make enemies.”
Boudreaux (CO)
Reilly filled the glass to just below the brim and shook his head. “No no… she most definitely is good at her job. And she isn’t one to intentionally take credit for other’s work. Its just that she doesn’t really give a s^$!t about those ‘others’. In her mind, the mission is the mission and orders are orders. She doesn’t see the middle ground at all. Or if she does, she ignores it. Her main drive is to please her superiors… and who cares she has to step on or screw over to make that happen.” He took a drink and then shook his head.
“For an Intel spook… she sure has no concept of ‘gray’ areas. For her its all black and white. And with what this ship and crew is about… well… that could be a recipie for some much uneeded awkwardness and conflict. Hell, Skip… she didn’t even believe me when I told she should watch herself around some of the crew. She already decided that they are all cut and pressed Fleet folks.” and he took another drink. “You and I both know we have more than a few that would cut you just as well as look at you. But she didn’t seem like she could get her head around that at all.”
