Acadia held her hand up. “Gimme a second. Ok, she said there are multiple turrets. So if they get them focused on them, it’ll be too much. We need to get a distraction big enough to get all their attention and allow a target that isn’t my crewmates.” She looked around to see if there was something she could throw. “We may have to do this a few at a time.”

She glanced around for something to use for a target to throw. “Kadence, Captain… hang on. We’re gonna try and take these out a few at a time. If you focus them all on you at once, it’ll be too much.” She wasn’t sure if she was right. But she couldn’t afford to be wrong.

Acadia
Engineer

Acadia found some small stones of various sizes, most of them not longer or bigger than 5 centimeters wide. Mado watched as the Starfleet Engineer worked. He might have something in his bag of tricks, but generally it wasn’t a good idea to rely on them too often.

GM

OOC: I have been wracking my brains to find a way to introduce Fin into this situation, but haven’t seen an opportunity until now. If the GM wants to void what I write, I understand, but here goes.

IC:
With the focus of the turrets on the away team, Fin was able to beam down further away from the away, unnoticed. On the ship she’d observed what was happening on the surface and knew they needed a distraction. Without contact yet, she had no idea if they were ready to be taken back to the ship or if there was something else that needed doing before that happened.

In a pouch at her waist, she carried grenades. They’d been cobbled together quickly by the engineers and there was no guarantee they would work as well as she thought, but she needed to help out her crewmates.

Running full force, coming in from a side angle, Fin lobbed three of the grenades at the building and continued in the direction where the officers were hunkered down.

OOC: I’m going to indicate you ran toward them, seeing as there is a dampening field blocking transporter and comms, and allow that automatic defense system didn’t detect your approach. But I’m going to assume you used some fancy thing that allowed you to spy on the away team.

IC:
The grenades, were shot at, causing three large explosions. The shockwave, knocked the automatic defense firing system offline. “Warning! Automatic defense firing system disabled. Engaging forcefields. All personnel are to leave the area. Repeat, all personnel are to leave the area,” chirped an automated computer voice.

GM

Acadia had been about to throw the first volley of rocks when the explosion split the air and the klaxon went off for everyone to evacuate. “Well, that wasn’t the plan, but works for me.” She laughed at Mado and touched his arm in reassurance before dropping it with a quick blush on her cheeks. Turning away to hide it, she called to the others. “That’s the bell, boys and girls. Let’s get out of there. The closest exit is this way. Let’s do like the nice computer voice suggests and evacuate.” She tried to laugh but her heart was racing.

Fin skidded to a halt next to Mado, kicking up a small cloud of dirt. “Not sure what I’ve gotten myself into, but I came as soon as I could. Mado, I presume?”

“Lieutenant Andreas Mado, Federation Security Attache. And you are?” asked Mado.

((ok, need to pause a beat… Mado and Acadia were in the building on one side, Capt and Kadence in building on other. Fin arrived outside (according to the GM) the building (cause of dampening and force fields, threw a grenade which shorted out the systems. The four inside are being told her skeddatle outside (along with other personnel)… so I am gonna stick some posts in between Fin and Mado because she couldn’t ‘skid to a halt beside him’ if she’s outside and he’s inside… right? If I am completely wrong, please lemme know))
