Coryn saved the most dreaded of his initial rounds for last. The mandatory psych eval with the ship’s counselor. The security officer understood the purpose of the evaluation, and valued the counselor’s role aboard the ship… but he’d spent more time talking to counselors in the last few months than he would like to remember. The thought that his future aboard the Wolverine and in Starfleet in general came down to such an evaluation was enough to form a knot in the man’s stomach. The only thought giving him some measure of peace was the Wolverine’s reputation. It was either a career rehab or career graveyard depending on who you spoke to, and Cory liked the idea that his first shipboard posting would be on such a ship.

He arrived outside the counselors office and pressed the chime, nervously smoothing the front of his uniform as he awaited a response.
