Since leaving Remy’s quarters earlier that day, Alita had made certain to be in motion because if she stopped to think for too long, she would start overthinking the night before, which was something she didn’t want to do. She had definitely gone to Remy’s bed of her own free will and would definitely do so again but, sometimes, other thoughts intruded.Diaz cast an accusing glance as Alita had entered the office that morning. The ship was too damned small. The rest of the day had gone by in a blur. Now it was late evening and Alita lay stretched on her couch exhausted from work and a session on the holodeck. Shifting, she realized she had pulled a hamstring and would probably have to take it easy for a few days. Glancing around, she also realized the cart with all those delectable left overs was in Remy’s quarters. The thought of having the replicator do anything for her at this point was terribly disheartening.

At that moment, the chime at Alita’s door rang.
When the door slid open, Remy was standing there. The cart she had delivered to him last night was by his side, the dishes steaming and looking just as delicious as they had the night before.
He smiled at her and said, ” I am ‘opine you don’ mind leftovers, but we ‘ardly touched this meal last night. Dere was sometine much more desirable dat consumed my ‘unger. . . may I come in, cher?”

Alita made to sit up and winced with the effort.
“Of course you can. That actually smells quite good. Gee, I wonder why we never quite got to it…” she said with a smile as her eyes lingered on Remy.

He noticed the slight indication of pain as she moved. “I ‘ope I didno’ overextend something in my efforts to satisfy you last night. . .or dis morning.”
He moved the cart into the room and positioned for easy access from the couch. “Relax, let me get some for you. . .”
After dishing out a little bit of everything onto her plate, Remy handed it over and sat down on the couch. He gently lifted her legs and slid underneath her calves. Despite his best efforts, she winced again. This time he could tell that it was most likely her hamstring. Strange, he thought, he didn’t recall raising her leg high enough to have done anything to damage her hammies. He replayed the previous night in his and began to grin. . . .
“Let me try to fix dis. . . .” he said as he began to gently work his hands on the injured thigh.

Alita took the plate and laughed at Remy’s remark. She smiled at his touch. By all rights she probably should have gone to sickbay however, she was a terrible patient.
“Oh I would certainly love to blame this on you. It could probably be laid at my doorstep though. After my shift I extended my usual run by five miles.” Alita paused and took a few bites, her eyes met Remy’s for a few seconds, “I just needed a little time to think and running is how I do that best. Afterwards, I remembered I was supposed to be kickboxing with Diaz and, since I’ve been putting him off all week, I decided I’d better not do it again, especially after the look he gave me this morning. So, a few minutes in, I pulled the hamstring. I suppose it’s all my fault.”
