It is with sad tidings I deliver the news of Edict 14 https://www.star-fleet.com/core/command/command/posts/83945/ as of June 13th the Olympic will be decommissioned by June 27th by TECH. This was not a decision taken lightly and was discussed heavily by myself, Matt, Steve, and Sarah and the GM Dept. The fact sadly remained that the numbers as they were didnt add up to keeping the ship active. Mainly for the following reasons:

1) A new GM was needed, and with the lack of GMs club wide none experienced could be found, further putting a GMT on a ship with poor health was not fair to them.
2) A new CO was needed, and like the GM it wasnt fair to try to find an experienced or most certainly a new CO to have to clean house on a ship. Especially if that CO was new would be unfair to them
3) Several positions on the ship currently and up till recently were AWOL or frequently AWOL which would likely have required the need of finding new players to fill said roles again a process which couldnt easily be filled quickly and effectively in a short time frame coupled with the above two things.

In the end this was the real only course to be followed. While I’m sad to see it happen to any ship the Olympic held a spot in my heart for being one of the first ships I was on as an DH/XO outside of the Merrimack. For the remaining crew as per FCOMM Matt and I will endeavor to help you find places for your characters if such is desired.

Thanks for the update and the unfortunate sad news, Rob.

With that being said, I would like to thanks those of you that hung on and were still posting consistently. But, as Rob said, this is a step that makes sense from a Command point of view.
