USS Olympic

SIM End

The rescue mission to Forrester’s world was not without it’s issues. Most of which was around the fact that there were more people alive then they were expecting. The masking chemicals worked almost as expected and the beetles spend most of the next few days wandering in a confused haze… those who weren’t affected were easily picked off by the Colonists and the Star-Fleet officers put in a position to assist the evacuation....

The colonist had fortified the mountain range and were using the ice from the peaks as water and the insects themselves as food. It was a harsh and unforgiving means of survival, but they were surviving… Unfortunately the Bedonigs had lost their mother, during the intervening six months but her sacrifice and that of the tens of thousands of others had kept this crisis from becoming a full blown tragedy.

The islanders had eked out a better living, relying of fishing and the fact that the insects didn’t ‘swim’ to keep them secure. Two to three thousand lived far better than the majority and that would cause an issue on the trip back, but being alive solved many issues.

OOC: Luke, thanks so much for the sim. It was interesting and fun. I will be glad to move on from bugs though. :) Everyone can finish out their threads as they see fit, but please keep creating and posting on side sims. Would you all like a chance for some shore leave for character development? We can run those threads as long as we like, even as we begin a new sim. Let me know—you can respond to this note with your vote.
