Quarters - Harding
Posted by Captain Shirazi Thorne (Captain) in Quarters - Harding
OOC: I’m bringing back the fact that Dius Bogir entered the Captain’s quarters (a long time ago in RL, but I never responded to it) and imbued certain furnishings and especially her bed, with psychic echoes in order to disturb her. He was angry with her and wanted her to feel hunted like he does. So even though this happened months ago, I’m going to play it like it just happened.IC:
Shirazi had had an unsettling evening in her own quarters. She’d returned there after her shift on the bridge and immediately got into the shower. Sometimes, in her own space where she didn’t have visitors—okay, Collin did spend some time there with her, but that was different because of their relationship—she allowed herself to go without the glove for a few hours. Tonight had been one of those nights. However, the more time she spent in her rooms, the more anxious she became.Thinking a drink might calm her nerves, she opened a bottle of white wine and proceeded to drink most of it over the next few hours. She couldn’t concentrate on the holo novel she’d been reading, or the vid she tried to watch, featuring a kidnapping and a man with a ‘special set of skills’. Unsure of what had her so jumpy, with the constant feeling she was being watched, she eventually decided on bed, hoping sleep would let her relax and that all would be well in the morning.
It was around midnight when she came awake with a scream caught in her throat. ‘They’ had found her! But who ‘they’ were was a mystery. She’d awoken before the antagonist could do much damage, but she did endure a beating in the dream. The promise of death had been spoken, but Shirazi awoke before that part happened.
Throwing on the first clothes she grabbed, a pair of blue leggings and a white t-shirt, she stuffed her feet into simple shoes, grabbed her glove, glasses and combadge, and headed for Hardings quarters.
He was surprised to see her, but welcomed her inside. They were having a late night snack and talking about her experience when her badge beeped with an incoming message.
. =^=Captain, this is Lieutenant Oberon. We have a situation. A body has been found in Jeffries Tube 15G, engineering deck. Engineering is doing head count. Permission to get counts from other departments?=^=
After the night she’d had, the specifics of the call made it seem like an omen. =/\=Thorne here. Permission granted. I’m on my way to you now. Are you still at the Jeffries location?=/\=
The channel stayed open while she waited for Oberon’s answer.
“NNOOOO!!!!!”–that was not directed at Thorne, it was more a cry of anger and frustration. =^=Computer, security shut down of all transporters. Immediately! Security override Oberon Theta Victor Theta! It’s gone, Captain, it was just beamed out. I have initiated shut down but I don’t think it was in time.=^=
The Captain was already up and heading for the door on a run. It was a good thing she and Collin hadn’t been in a more intimate situation. She was still dressed and he had a pair of sweat pants on.
“We might need you there to advise. Throw something on and meet us as soon as you can.” She called back over her shoulder at the doctor as she exited his quarters.
—Thorne, CO (I hope this is okay with everyone.)
Collin stood as Shirazi rose to leave, watching as she seemlessly shifted from woman to Captain. The two distinctions weren’t opposed, nor in conflict with each other, but he could see in her face as one role took dominance over the other.
“I’ll be right behind you,” he said as she left his quarters.
Collin was practiced at donning his uniform and it took only a minute. He grabbed the medkit he kept stored in his quarters, opening it briefly to reassure himself he needn’t stop by Sickbay, and left.
