Canine teeth, on a feline. Human terminology was amusing. He checked the next officer on his list. The Chief of Security. Lovely, those people were always fun to interact with. He sent the message. =^=Sathut to Lieut (j.g.) Pretha Oberon. Please come to my office at your earliest convenience for an evaluation. Thank you, and I look forward to our meeting. Sathut out.=^= Only a few dozen more messages to send, then perhaps he could take a nap. He chuckled quietly.

Pretha had heard and complied. As the counselor finished the last of his calls, the security cord piped in. ==LtJG Sathut, Oberon. I have time if you’re available.==

Once granted permission, Pretha made her way to the counselor’s and rapped on the door. It was mundane, but having she’d had since childhood. She still knocked more often than hitting the door chime. Her knuckles smacked hard enough on the door to be heard inside, though not the same volume as the musical alert.

“Enter,” came the quick reply, and the door opened to the Counselor’s office. “Welcome, come on in,” the small alien spoke, waving Pretha in. “Have a seat. I’m Sathut,” he spoke.

Sathut

Pretha came in and looked around. Her face lit up with a pleasant smile as nodded to the counselor. “Hi, I’m Lt JG Pretha Oberon. I was told to come see you?” She glanced around the room, curious if the new counselor’s taste had marked the confines yet.

The room had very little decoration, seeing as the counselor had only moved in a day or two before. “Yes, I’m doing evaluations of all the staff,” he explained. “And you were on my list,” he added.

Sathut

“Aahhh, umm… Ok,” the Security Chief replied as she came in. The fact she was ‘on a list’ concerned her slightly. She knew she and D’Vash were being discrete. And she knew her security department was running smoothly. So as far as she knew, this was just a routine check up with the new counselor. “So, what would you like to talk about?”

While it was obvious that Pretha was a bit nervous, it wasn’t to the point of uncomfortableness. Perhaps curious was a more suitable term.

Given that he had said he was doing evaluations of the entire staff, it shouldn’t be too worrying that she had been summoned.

The counselor himself was an odd sort - a catlike being, small and lithe. He wore robes and some ornate jewelry - his outfit was not federation standard. “Well then, would you take a seat? Before we begin, is there anything you would like to drink? Water, tea…” he trailed off.

Pretha shook her head slightly and sat on one of the chairs. She crossed her legs and smiled. “No, thank you… I’m good.” She brushed an imperceptible strand of hair behind her ear and watched the man move about the room. ‘Man’ may not have been the right word, but to her, he was simply that. Another man on the ship. She had been around enough intriguing species to not gawk and stare, but like anyone who admired something, she did ‘look’. “I like your adornments. They compliment the robe colors nicely.”

It was a simple compliment, one meant to open a conversation. It was the security officer in her taking the upper hand in the conversation… even if she wasn’t aware that was what she was doing.
