Ensign James Holmes had already settled in to his quarters. He had made himself at home, adjusting to the new atmosphere that he is around, full of species that he had never seen before in person, but only on screens back at home on Earth. Today was a new beginning for James Holmes, his journey had already started at the Starfleet Academy, but now this was where his real journey began: ‘To boldly go where no man has gone before’.

James was laying on his bed, checking off what had to be done as part of his checking-in process. He had done everything except for three simple things: sickbay, counsellor’s office and reporting for duty with the head of department.

He decided to go to the counsellor’s office at first, so got off his bed with a spring in his step, and put on his shoes supplied by Starfleet, which were surprisingly comfortable. James then exited his quarters, and began to walk the labyrinth of corridors towards the counsellor’s office. He knew it would take a while to get adjusted, but he was ready for whatever came his way.
