A Security NE escorted Captain Reval across the bridge and to the door of the Captain’s ready room. He rang the door chime. “I will remain with you while you speak with the Captain.”
“His orders?” Reval asked. “A necessary security precaution.”-Matrix

Somewhere in the conversation Reno sent a text message to appear on a device for the Captain to see, or, alternatively, not look at till later. It read, =^= Samples of oxygen, carbon, and chlorine replicated along with the food in the cargo bay. Security alerted and is on it. =^=
- Reno, EngThe Captain sent a quick message back. =^=Understood. Keep me informed=^=
As the message was received by Reno, the captains voice was heard. =^=Enter=^=
In his ready room, Jasar stood up behind his desk to greet the freighter captain.

Reval walked in, closely followed by security, who then posted himself at the far wall. “Jolan’tru Captain. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t meet under more pleasant circumstances. I must thank you for taking us in. This ship… she’s our only hope.”
-Matrix
Hamiclar nodded. “Jolan’Tru.” He returned the greeting. “Thank you Ensign, you may wait outside.” He gestured to the chairs in front of his desk. “Please Captain, have a seat. Can I offer you anything?” He asked as he moved towards the replicator on the far wall.

The security NE left the room hesitantly. “Water. With ice if you don’t mind.” Reval’s face said that this was a luxurious request in his mind. He sat down opposite the Captain’s desk. “I know we have much to discuss. But I will answer your questions first and fill in any gaps I can later.”

=^=Water with Ice, and Green tea with honey.=^= The Jasar stated to the computer, a moment later the two drinks appeared. He handed the water to his counterpart. The Captain took his seat across from the Romulan.
“Well, let’s start with what’s going? What are you running from?” He took a sip of his tea, trying to look as relaxed and welcoming as he could.
-CO
“That’s a long story.” Reval sighed. “The shortest version is that when Romulus and a dozen other worlds turned to dust, anyone who lived there, but was offworld, was homeless. The government created a seemingly great system where displaced people could go to get jobs helping to rebuild. What the ads didn’t say was that the Tal’Shiar were running it and you didn’t contribute- what you’re good at, whatever your job was before. They assigned you a number, and shipped you to a labour camp. Unless you had enough money or influence. Then you got to idly wait while the slaves built your house. Once you were nice and enslaved, they made sure to find any excuse they could to whip you, beat you with batons, or just plain shoot you. It’s how the guards passed the time. These are the survivors of all of that. There are kids down there who were born in that camp. I miss Romulus. I miss the old culture. The real Rihannsu. What’s there now doesn’t even resemble it. So we’re runaway slaves. From an empire that outlawed slavery millennia ago.”

Hamilcar thought for a moment, processing the man’s story. “Is that who attacked you, the Tal’Shiar?” He asked curiously.
-CO
“Commander Suket is senior among the Tal’Shiar. Not in total command, but she’s a favourite of command and she’s got the rank to do whatever she wants. I don’t know why she was assigned to hunt us down, or why she didn’t just… kill us. She had plenty of opportunity.” Reval’s eyes turned dark. “She hailed us after each attack, demanded that we turn… something over. I have no idea what. And I don’t want to. Whatever it is she wants- it’s the only reason my people are still alive. If I ever find out what it is, I might be tempted to believe her lies that she’ll let us go in exchange for it.”
-Matrix
“Sounds like she is gunning for the top spot, ambitions, ruthless. That’s useful information.” Hamilcar stated, more to himself then to Revel. “However, it also sounds like she can be patient when she needs to be.” He continued to Revel. “Is that a fair assessment?”
-CO
Reval nodded. “I can’t think of anything she would want more than power and authority. And maybe whatever or whoever she’s after is a great way to get promoted. And yes, she is the perfect hunter. She waits for the exact right moment before striking. I don’t think her vessel could take yours. But I’d be willing to wager that she’s out there, cloaked, looking for your weak spot.”
-Matrix
Hamilcar nodded thoughtfully. “I’ll speak with Star fleet regarding your situation. In the mean time, my crew is seeing to your needs. Do you have a preference as to where we relocate you?” Hamilcar asked curiously.
-CO
“Someplace with an atmosphere. We’ll make do with whatever we have. ‘New ch’Rihan.’ Sounds nice.”
-Matrix
An alert then came that a baby boy named Ecurai had been born in sickbay.
